Overview:
We are looking for an energetic, detail-oriented individual with exceptional organizational and communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to support multiple senior leaders in the Institutional Services business. Also provides moderately complex analytical, and/or technical support at the business/department level within Institutional Services.
Primary Responsibilities:
Primarily serving in a senior administrative role with responsibilities including coordinating meetings, effectively managing multiple calendars, arranging travel, processing expense reports, and managing office supplies for all the IS business in Wilmington and Minneapolis.
Will serve as back-up senior administrative support to the head of the IS business on an ad hoc basis. Requires strict confidentiality and strong diplomacy skills.
Proficient in creating and editing PowerPoint presentations, Excel workbooks, and working with documents in PDF format.
Analytical responsibilities include producing moderately complex ad-hoc departmental reports and spreadsheets, including but not limited to, project or product analysis, historical reporting, and work flow / process mapping, and financial analysis in support of the IS business.
Research and gather business, process, and/or financial information to support these activities. Complete ad-hoc analyses to support business decisions. Provide feedback to management regarding results and make recommendations on findings to senior team members.
Develop a solid understanding of the IS business and its functions, processes and operations. Remain current on business and market trends that may affect the business/department.
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
Scope of Responsibilities:
The position requires substantial interaction with internal and external contacts to obtain pertinent information in support of the Global Capital Markets business and may serve as liaison between the department and other business units on various projects. The jobholder works independently under very limited supervision as well as a member or a project leader of a project team.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 1 years’ experience in field,
OR in lieu of a degree,
A combined minimum of 5 years higher education and/or work experience including a minimum of 1 years’ experience in the field
Skilled proficiency in use of pertinent spreadsheet, database, graphing and presentation software
Working knowledge of financial models.
Working knowledge of pertinent operating systems
Education and Experience Preferred:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the field
Minimum of 2 years’ banking or other relevant industry experience
Working knowledge of department-specific software
Ability to work independently and function as a member of a project team
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical ability
Creative problem-solving skills
Working level project management skills
