What You’ll Be Doing:
The Associate for the US Non-Bank Financials, Fund Finance team provides client coverage and transactional support to the group head and senior bankers within the Corporate Banking Fund Finance vertical. In this role, the Associate assists with managing the banking relationships between CIBC Capital Markets and clients, primarily in the Fund Finance sector. The Associate is responsible for supporting and managing the new deal process, as well as maintaining existing credit relationships. This role requires maintaining an awareness of the client, company, and industry, as well as regulatory issues, relevant economic and political trends, and client needs, in order to tailor coverage and financing solutions.
How You’ll Succeed:
Provides direct support to the group head, including the management of new and existing clients, identifying financing opportunities, and developing ancillary business with key product partners.
- Establishes and maintains contact with clients throughout the due diligence process to obtain and provide information and advice, and manages communications regarding CIBC processes and requirements.
- Demonstrates familiarity with appropriate client coverage, due diligence, and can provide primary support for business committees and product partner business development.
- Organizes presentations for potential clients, assisting in the development of presentation materials and supporting senior banker client engagement.
- Liaises with other CIBC units and relationship stakeholders within CIBC Capital Markets and across the broader CIBC platform.
- Supports and/or participates in research and information collection to assist in the identification and analysis of potential business transactions.
- Assists in the ongoing monitoring of the client portfolio and supports the relationship management strategy.

- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field; previous fund finance/corporate finance/corporate lending and structuring experience is preferred
- Ability to work well and excel in a team environment
- Thorough understanding of Fund Finance, notably Subscription Secured Credit Facilities and other financing structures
- Ability to engage with Partners, including Loan Syndications, the Fund Finance Product team and support deal committees and relationship reviews
- Well-developed organizational skills in order to respond to shifting priorities on several simultaneous projects
- Demonstrated job commitment including a willingness to work extended hours and personal flexibility and adaptability in order to meet client requirements
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, oral and written communication skills in order to convey factual and conceptual information to others and promote the interests of CIBC

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $150,000-$185,000 for the New York, NY market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component. CIBC offers a full range of benefits and programs to meet our employee’s needs; including Medical, Dental, Vision, Health Savings Account, Life Insurance, Disability, and Other Insurance Plans, Paid Time Off (including Sick Leave, Parental Leave, and Vacation), Holidays, and 401(k), in addition to other special perks reserved for our team members.
