JOB DESCRIPTION
The role will support equity trading in the execution of all cash equities and equity derivatives, which requires effective time management, attention to detail, and an understanding of market structure. The role will also be expected to help portfolio managers and strategists stay abreast of market themes and trends that are driving stock performance.
The role will also support the Equity Strategists in portfolio construction, risk monitoring, performance attribution, market analyses, trade implementation, and preparing reports to meet internal and external deliverables.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Trader Responsibilities:
- Execute buys and sells of equity securities, including US and non – US common stock, Preferred Stock, and Equity Derivatives.
- Track, research/analyze market levels and provide market color/insights.
- Monitor portfolios and identify significant price targets for stock holdings, indices, and other securities.
- Monitor compliance limits for portfolios, resolve trade issues, and price securities.
Portfolio Analyst Responsibilities:
- Formulate and construct trade programs that adhere to investment guidelines.
- Determine and analyze portfolio construction and risk exposures.
- Perform portfolio and index level performance / performance attribution analyses.
- Prepare monthly/quarterly/yearly reports – including marketing materials, regulatory / mutual fund deliverables, and client and prospect requests.
- Perform portfolio, index, and security analyses.
- Maintain equity portfolio database (knowledge of SQL preferred).
- Maintain RFP equity strategy questionnaire database. Assist in responding to RFPs.
- Participate in internal and external presentations regarding market color and portfolio performance /structure.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Collaborative, bright, quick learner, good attitude, attention to detail, well-rounded.
- Two to three years of relevant experience required.
- Programming / database management skills desired.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree
- CFA Charter holder or progress towards the designation
