The Sr. Portfolio Manager primary purpose is to ensure objectives related to credit underwriting and internal portfolio management are met, in addition to supporting the workflow of the Commercial Team of RMs and commercial lending associates. This position will provide approval within established guidelines for daily credit/portfolio administrative activity.
The Senior Relationship Manager builds credible relationships based on what is good for the Bank and what is good for the client, with a genuine belief that personal success will be a result of client success. Act as a CIBC’s senior relationship manager for commercial banking’s Asset Based Lending’s larger clients and prospective clients, requiring in-depth relationship coverage and customized financial solutions. The primary focus is on the origination of the day to day management of new and existing clients, which includes generating cross-sell with CIBC ancillary products and building the CIBC brand, and new opportunities with existing clients. As primary relationship manager, the Senior Director Relationship Portfolio Manager holds ultimate client and credit risk accountability, and maximizes profitability of major account relationships ensuring RAR, and RAROC objectives are met.
What You'll Be Doing :
- Strengthening CIBC's relationships with existing ABL accounts and driving continuous service improvements with ultimate focus on business retention. The role is a professional who utilizes diverse methods and skills to support the strategy, processes, and service delivery solutions to ABL clients. The role applies independent judgement throughout the deal screening stage, review of financial models and other quantitative information to appropriately analyze a transaction.

- Manage a portfolio of Asset Based clients
- Become a trusted advisor with our clients to deliver the entire bank to them
- Presenting transactions to risk adjudication with Credit Executives
- Hold client discussions to negotiate credit terms and structures
- Meet all compliance and regulatory requirements
- Negotiate legal documents with outside attorney
- Executing syndication strategies when required and also being involved in the closing process

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of$150,000.00- $200,000.00for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible toparticipatein the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonuscomponent.
