Job Description
As part of an interdisciplinary investment, marketing, consultant relations, and client service team, the Client Portfolio Manager acts as an investment representative for the firm's fixed income, equity, and alternative strategies. This role requires a deep understanding of financial markets and the ability to tailor solutions to align with clients' goals and objectives. This role requires a combination of technical investment expertise and the interpersonal presence needed to influence senior-level decision-makers.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Investment Advocacy: Promote and position the firm's investment management services to prospective clients and consultants. Participate in client portfolio reviews and other meetings as needed.
- Consultant & Client Relations: Cultivate relationships with key decision makers, understand client issues, and offer appropriate solutions.
- Business Development Support: Act as the lead SME for Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and partner with marketing to develop high-impact presentations, proposals, and client-facing materials.
- Thought Leadership: Participate in internal research discussions to develop strategic economic outlooks and author white papers or market commentaries.
- Market Presence: Promote the firm's capabilities by attending and speaking at key industry conferences and events.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 15+ years of distinguished experience in institutional client service, investment marketing, or portfolio management.
- Market Expertise: A robust knowledge base across institutional fixed income and equity markets, with an understanding of alternative strategies.
- Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility.
- Interpersonal Skills: A strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Time Management: Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills, with a proven track record of delivering effective results.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, or a related field required; MBA or CFA designation highly preferred.
