The Institutional Buyside business unit at FactSet is dedicated to delivering innovative tools for portfolio management, quantitative research, risk analysis, performance & attribution, and execution management. We serve the world’s largest asset managers, asset owners, and insurance companies, helping them navigate the complexities of the investment lifecycle with confidence.
This role sits at the intersection of client workflows, regulatory and industry standards, and scalable technology. You will be responsible for ensuring FPS delivers a cohesive, competitive, and future-ready performance platform that supports both core performance workflows and GIPS-compliant reporting and governance.
You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, Portfolio Services, Professional Services, and Support to define and execute a unified FPS roadmap that treats GIPS not as a standalone product, but as a first-class, integrated capability within the broader performance ecosystem.
Responsibilities
As the Senior Product Manager – Performance Solutions, you will oversee the full lifecycle of FactSet’s performance product suite, from discovery and strategy to execution and launch. This involves working across Product, Sales, Managed Services, Professional Services, and Support teams to prioritize enhancements and ensure we consistently meet and exceed client expectations.
Your Primary Responsibilities Include
Product Insights
- Develop deep expertise in institutional performance workflows, including performance calculation, attribution, reporting, and GIPS compliance.
- Understand end-market dynamics, regulatory drivers, client operating models, and competitive offerings across both performance and GIPS solutions.
- Proactively validate market opportunities through client engagement, data analysis, and feedback to ensure solutions are valuable, viable, usable, and scalable.
- Define and track success metrics including product adoption, engagement, retention, ASV, and support cost efficiency.
Product Strategy
- Contribute to the product vision and roadmap for FPS, inclusive of GIPS capabilities, in alignment with FactSet’s broader Performance and Analytics strategies.
- Partner with Senior Principal and Principal Product leadership to ensure FPS and GIPS priorities are aligned with firm-type strategies and long-term platform direction.
- Define how GIPS capabilities integrate across FPS components such as calculation, data management, reporting, and governance workflows.
- Act as a product evangelist, clearly communicating strategy, trade-offs, and priorities across stakeholders.
- Partner with Sales and Marketing on market validation, positioning, and growth opportunities related to FPS and GIPS.
Product Execution
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver on product vision, goals, and roadmap commitments.
- Plan releases, prioritize initiatives, and clearly define scope, user needs, and success criteria.
- Translate complex performance and GIPS requirements into actionable product requirements and acceptance criteria for engineering teams.
- Collaborate with UX Design to ensure workflows are intuitive, compliant, and scalable for sophisticated institutional users.
- Partner with Product Marketing and Sales Enablement on go-to-market messaging, client education, and adoption strategies.
- Set realistic launch goals, monitor outcomes, iterate quickly, and continuously refine based on client and market feedback.
Operational Ownership
- Serve as a subject matter expert for FPS and GIPS, supporting client conversations, escalations, and strategic engagements.
- Monitor post-launch product health, including support escalations, usability issues, and operational efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to reduce complexity, improve client experience, and lower long-term support costs through better product design.
As part of this role, you will also monitor the ongoing performance of products post-launch, ensuring they continue to meet client needs. This includes addressing support escalations, troubleshooting, and identifying opportunities to improve usability and reduce support costs.

Key Qualifications Include
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM, finance, economics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 7–10 years of relevant experience, ideally in product management, performance solutions, or a related field.
- A product-first mindset, with a strong focus on understanding client problems, defining clear goals, and experimenting to find the best solutions.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams, with the ability to influence stakeholders across engineering, design, and sales without direct authority.
- Strong decision-making skills, including the ability to balance competing priorities and confidently say no to misaligned demands.

Salary is just one component of our compensation package and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, and certifications.
The budgeted amount range for this position in New York City, California Colorado and Canada is $120,000 - $150,000
