Experienced Project Manager in Hedge Fund Operations
Responsibilities
- support the end-to-end project lifecycle, coordinating betweennontechnical users, development teams, and management across trading,investor relations, treasury, operations, corporate accounting, fundaccounting, and tax
- develop an understanding of data flows, workflows, and dependenciesacross firm-wide groups and systems
- develop business requirements and draft technical design specificationsfor use in developing future systems and enhancing current systems
- assist in the coordination and prioritization of work for the developmentteam, maintain project roadmaps to ensure deadlines are met,escalating risks as needed to keep projects on track
- support the development life cycle and ensure that testing scripts areprepared, resources are secured, and testing is completed in a timely andsatisfactory manner
- coordinate and prepare the annual cross-departmental strategicdevelopment plans for the firm’s senior management team and prepareand deliver recurring project management updates for the managementteam
- identify future needs of the systems with which the project managerinterfaces and make recommendations regarding opportunities to improvescalability, efficiency, and effectiveness
- assist in the daily status monitoring and troubleshooting of issues relatedto firm’s portfolio accounting software (Advent Geneva) and severalcustom-built Java platforms
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- 5-7 years of experience developing and supporting applications foraspects of fund administration in a modern financial services organizationpreferred
- expertise in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
- technical background (SQL, MS Access, VBA) strongly preferred but notrequired
- excellent oral and written communication skills
