The Associate Business Manager plays a pivotal role in enabling the effectiveness of the Chief Operating Officer (COO) organization at Voya Investment Management. This position streamlines key operational functions, drives strategic planning activities, manages high-impact communications, oversees governance and financial performance, and provides direct support to the COO and Head of Business Management. Operating at the center of a large, complex organization responsible for investment operations, product oversight, and client service enablement, the Associate Business Manager ensures that critical processes, decisions, and initiatives run with excellence, consistency, and strategic alignment.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence & Process Improvement
• Streamline and optimize business processes, improve workflow efficiency, and enhance resource utilization across onboarding, operational governance, strategic planning, and executive communications.
• Assess existing processes, identify gaps, and implement improvements that reduce friction and accelerate decision-making.
Strategic Planning & Decision Enablement
• Partner across functional teams to gather insights, analyze data, and develop recommendations aligned with the COO’s expectations, Voya IM’s strategic pillars, and clear cost-benefit rationales.
• Coordinate the end-to-end decision-making process by consolidating information, preparing materials, evaluating impacts, and ensuring accuracy and strategic alignment.
Organizational Communication & Engagement
• Facilitate communication channels across the COO organization to strengthen collaboration, transparency, and organizational readiness.
• Develop and manage communications, organizational events, strategic offsites, leadership agendas, and stakeholder engagement activities.
Governance, Performance Management & Reporting
• Lead key performance management processes, including goal setting, SLAs, KPIs, evaluations, root cause analysis, and executive readouts.
• Promote operational discipline, quality, and accountability through strong governance practices.
Financial & Project Management
• Oversee operational and project financials, including forecasting, budgeting, resource planning, and contractor management.
• Support governance for major initiatives and build internal PMO capability over time.
• Manage operational areas such as Voya India coordination and Market Data Services oversight.
Executive Support
• Provide direct support to the COO and Head of Business Management across strategic initiatives, communications, and operational priorities.
• Prepare high-quality presentations, documents, analyses, and talking points for executive-level stakeholders.
Minimum Knowledge & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in business management or strategy, with a passion for leveraging ai and nex gen automation in the investment management field.
• High Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Copilot, Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience using advanced reporting tools such Power BI, Webfocus or Tableau
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building capability.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and operate cross-functionally.
• Advanced financial management and budgeting expertise.
Compensation Pay Disclosure:
Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.
The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.
Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
