POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Portfolio Analytics Senior Associate will join the BCRE Finance team and will be responsible for the maintenance and integrity of the portfolio’s financial records. The Senior Associate will be the financial partner to the investment team and will be expected to provide financial insight, analysis and reporting for the investments within the portfolio.
The Senior Associate will report to the BCRE Portfolio Analytics Manager and will interact extensively with the BCRE Investment team. This role relies on continuous communication with both the finance and investment teams to ensure that all team members have the necessary data and insight into each property and the portfolio. An important component of this role is a constant understanding of the portfolio’s investments, recent and upcoming activity, and the current financial position of the portfolio.
The responsibilities of the Senior Associate will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Assist the Portfolio Analytics Manager with various tasks
Create, enhance, and maintain complex property, investment, and fund level performance track records
Prepare quarterly and year-end reporting, including portfolio update slides, executive summaries, fund and asset level dashboards, and year-end portfolio summaries for communication with investors and investment team
Diligently track investment activity to update team on upcoming acquisitions and dispositions, portfolio construction, and investment pace
Work closely with Investor Relations to update marketing materials utilizing fund financial data and portfolio track records
Partner with Investment team to provide data and insight into individual properties and portfolios
Develop complex excel models to enhance portfolio tracking and trend analysis
Identify the need for new analyses which will drive future portfolio management efficiencies
Identify/develop tools and analyses in Yardi Platform including Performance Manager to maximize the team’s capabilities for real-time use of data
Analyze property level data to derive key characteristics and risks of the portfolio as a whole
Produce and maintain accurate and timely reports related to portfolio and asset management for senior management
Assist in the build out, maintenance, review and integrity of reporting information in Yardi and Anaplan
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
We are actively seeking candidates with the following skills and qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Financial Mathematics, or similar major
2-4 years of relevant experience. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working within the real estate or private equity industries
Advanced Excel skills and modeling experience
Progress towards a relevant professional designation (CFA, CAIA, CPA)
Knowledge and demonstrated interest of financial markets and products
Excellent communication skills plus demonstrated confidence and ability to communicate with all levels of management
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Must be extremely detail oriented and demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and self-motivation
Proficiency in Yardi or Anaplan a plus
