Monroe Capital is seeking a Business Development Analyst (“BDA”) professional to assist the Business Development team (primarily by partnering with the Business Development team Vice Presidents, Directors, and Managing Directors), which in return promotes the firm’s Private Credit offerings into the Institutional Channel.
The BDA will be an integral part of the fundraising process in converting prospects into clients, which includes assisting with the responses to RFPs and DDQs, conducting research on prospects, staying up to date with the industry, and helping maintain our CRM and pipeline. The ideal candidate must have an understanding and passion for the sales strategy/process and investments. Additionally, they should have excellent verbal and written including writing responses communications skills. They must also have very strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as the ability to prioritize and execute on multiple tasks. Most critically, the BDA must demonstrate poise, professional presence, excellent presentation abilities, and have a high degree of enthusiasm for building relationships and helping others.
The BDA will help initiate and schedule meetings, and support existing client relationships within the pension, foundation, and endowment community. This role will also work within the overall Business Development/Marketing group at Monroe Capital which may entail special projects and additional requirements as assigned.
This role may develop into a more direct sales/Business Development position over time for the right candidate; based on success and interest.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Senior and Junior Business Development support
- Collaborate with Investor Relations and Business Development to assist with the development and execution of sales strategies to meet or exceed targets.
- Generate and qualify leads through calling, email campaigns, and other prospecting methods.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to provide feedback to the leadership team.
- Assist in responding to Request for Proposals and Request for Information (“RFPs” or “RFIs”) from prospects globally.
- Actively use the firm’s CRM software to maintain notes, updates, and tracking of potential investors while maintaining detailed log of investor interactions.
- Aggregate and synthesize meeting client information, meeting notes, and follow up.
- Work as a partner on the Business Development team to develop, maintain, and expand relationships to drive sales in different territories.
- Develop and maintain understanding of Monroe’s various platform and offerings.
- Maintain an understanding of industry/market trends.
- Proactively support team initiatives and complete ad hoc projects to support business development and management team as requested.
Requirements
- 0-3 years of internal sales support, financial services, or asset management space experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Business-related degree (preferred).
- Successful track record of ability to be organized, thorough and effective with deadlines.
- Required to work within a team construct.
- Experience with CRM tools and database resources.
- Excellent presentation and database skills; PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Preqin, etc.
- Collaborating with other areas of Monroe and ensuring a constant and open communication stream.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong time management skills.
- Well-organized self-starter with high energy, creativity, and thoughtfulness.
