Job Purpose:
Cerberus established our Residential Opportunities investment platform in 2008 to capitalize on opportunities to acquire distressed residential mortgage-backed securities following the Global Financial Crisis. Over the past decade, our Residential Opportunities platform has continued to build upon its expertise in residential debt and evolved to earn recognition as an innovator and market leader in securitizing performing residential real estate loans and investing in single-family rental real estate (SFRs).
Our Residential Opportunities strategies seek to maximize absolute return through a combination of capital appreciation and current income, investing primarily in mortgages, loans, and real assets, and leveraging our proprietary asset management platforms to enhance performance and drive value.
You will help the team with investment strategy, data analytics and proprietary models to forecast loan performance, structure deals, and enable trading activity across RMBS and other structured products. You will work with traders, programmers, and investment professionals to create value for clients.
Responsibilities/Deliverables:
- Work closely with portfolio managers and quantitative analytics team
- Provide research in agency and non-agency MBS, and ABS performance databases
- Perform collateral analysis, understand deal structure and summarize total return profile for ABS and RMBS transactions
- Develop a strong understanding of the platform’s investment strategies and investment approach
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from a top academic institution
- 2-5 years of experience with ABS/RMBS modeling, research and trading
- Highly proficient in Excel and experience with Python and SQL preferred
- Experience with Intex Dealmaker and Intex Calc preferred
- Personal accountability and strong work ethic
- Self-starter with a willingness to learn and to apply knowledge
The base salary for this position is expected to be between $150,000.00 and $200,000.00. The base salary offered to the chosen candidate will be commensurate with a candidate’s relevant experience and other qualifications for the position, as determined by the Company in its sole discretion. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is often a meaningful portion of the compensation package, and a robust benefits package.
