Position Description
Under the general direction of the Senior System Administrator, the System Administrator performs a variety of technical tasks in the area of computer systems and networks.
Summary of Job Functions
- Participate in supporting and maintaining all Server Operating Systems and services
- Maintain system patching, ensure current backups, analyze systems for performance tuning
- Perform root cause analysis on incidents on supported systems hardware and OS/software
- Increase/improve automation in the areas of Virtual Machine provisioning & configuration Data center operations
- Rack and stack new servers & storage
- Cable management for storage and networking Cloud (Amazon AWS and/or Microsoft Azure)
- Ability to administer cloud portals including Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure
- Set up and configure new cloud-based environments - recommend best practices
- Knowledge of lift and shift migration techniques for workloads from on-prem to cloud
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or another related field
- 5+ years VMWare HORIZON Administration & Maintenance – or VMware vSphere experience plus another VDI product such as Citrix VDI
- 5+ Years Cloud Knowledge (Azure and/or AWS)
- Data center systems management – Dell hardware experience preferred
- Windows Server / Active Directory experience
- Application & Desktop support
- Ability to work in Jupiter Office 3-5 Days per week
Preferred Skills and Previous Experience
- Linux experience - Debian/Ubuntu preferred
- Containerization experience (Kubernetes or Docker)
