The Finance professional reports directly to the fund Controller and will support the ongoing management of various direct origination platform including Apollo’s BDC’s. Direct Origination and BDC’s are the most sought-after areas in the fund space and within Apollo. This individual will be tasked with the quality execution of the day-to-day core accounting responsibilities, driving improvements in processes and reporting, and engaging in problem-solving. We are seeking a talented and dedicated professional with the ability to be part of a versatile team and a strong desire to learn and develop in their career.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead month-end/quarterly close process, including completing a NAV package with all the relevant supporting documentation, calculating performance figures, assisting with corporate and regulation S-X reporting.
Review/prepare quarterly SEC filings (10Q/10K) and financial statements.
Coordinate activities between NYC & Apollo’s Mumbai operations and accounting teams.
Lead preparation of quarterly board materials.
Lead discussion with various vendors and third-party providers of services including sub-administrators, custodians, transfer agents and valuation firms.
Identify and analyze daily cash activity for various fund entities and coordinate with administrator and the deal team for activities.
Verify portfolio pricing to internal model and third-party sources. Supervision of third-party valuation firms on quarterly valuation process in concert with Apollo’s valuation team.
Assist the Senior Controllers and CFO with special projects and ad hoc requests as needed
Qualifications & Experience
CPA preferred
Mix of Private and Public accounting experience preferred
College degree with a competitive GPA and demonstrated math or analytical ability
4-8 years relevant (portfolio and partnership accounting) work experience
Previous Public/Private Fund/ CLOs/Credit Hedge Fund/Financial Services experience a plus.
Previous experience evaluating process controls, procedures, and flows
Previous experience with valuation of illiquid and liquid assets
Ability to take initiative and be accountable for running a process to conclusion
Excellent communication skills including the ability to synthesize and see the big picture
Ability to juggle more than one project at a time and work in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with Alteryx, Anaplan, or Power BI a plus

Pay Range
$140,000 – $205,000
The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
