The Franklin Templeton U.S. Marketing organization is a part of U.S. Distribution and is responsible for the development and execution of marketing strategy and related deliverables / communications designed to drive flows and retain assets. The U.S. Marketing organization oversees the end-to-end client experience and works with all related functions to achieve a seamless journey for Franklin Templeton clients. Within the U.S. Marketing organization sits the
Retail Client Marketing Specialist responsible for executing the marketing strategy across multiple US distribution channels, focused on the independent channel.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Retail Client Marketing Specialist?
- Partner with US client marketing channel leads to help execute against strategic marketing goals and priorities.
- Help project manage firm-specific webinars, product launches, and other key initiatives along with related deliverables – this includes close communication and partnership with both internal and external contacts.
- Manage content submissions to independent partner firms for review/approval along with managing comment process and expiration for that content.
- Act as a stakeholder in project planning meetings interfacing with sales management, field sales, national accounts, and client service partners to provide marketing related input and updates while also collecting and managing feedback.
- Interact with sales colleagues by answering daily inquiries, which includes managing a shared team email inbox.
- Execute workflow requirements to create deliverables, which includes submitting email briefs, submitting requests via our workflow system Workfront to our web, creative services, and compliance partners.
- Work closely with the marketing operations team to help maintain existing content.
- Partner with US client marketing colleagues to aggregate weekly updates for our internal partners into an email newsletter communication.
- Create deliverables based on important guidelines including compliance-related requirements to ensure content and communications are appropriate for specific audiences.
- Execute against an effective marketing development process that incorporates special consideration of how best to leverage resources and accomplish goals in the most affordable manner possible.
- Employ a compressive marketing brief process, bringing together colleagues across all marketing functions to determine how best to go to market as quickly and effectively as possible, always being clear as to the intended goal and how best to measure success.
Establish and Maintain a Deep Understanding
- of the firm’s overall investment capabilities to effectively connect our investment solutions with solving client needs
- of the sales process, the investment industry, and our competitors
- of our clients’ goals, priorities, and challenges as a key determinant of how we can be effective in our marketing efforts.
What ideal qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years experience in financial services industry, preferably in marketing
- Securities licenses encouraged
- An understanding of economic and financial concepts and capital markets
- Creative and strategic thinking
- Digital-first and resource sensitive mindset
- Analytical approach to planning ensuring KPIs are established and tracked for marketing efforts
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proactive approach to project ownership with ability to anticipate needs.
- A strong collaborator who can effectively and respectfully work with colleagues in other teams.
- A self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects/deliverables.
- Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
- Willing to constructively challenge status quo.
Compensation Range: Franklin Templeton offers employees a competitive and valuable range of total rewards—monetary and non-monetary—designed to support the whole person and to recognize their time, talents, and results. Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between $70,000 - $85,000.
