The Role
This is a full-time role based in Chicago. As a Direct Lending Associate, you will be responsible for supporting in the investment process as outlined below.
Core Responsibilities
- Conducting due diligence on investment opportunities, including in-depth analysis on companies and industries (i.e., detailed valuation and financial modeling, sensitivity analysis, DCF analysis, comparable analysis, etc.)
- Preparing and presenting due diligence materials, screening, and investment committee memos
- Ongoing monitoring of portfolio companies, associated industries, and quarterly valuation of investments
- Assisting in research for development of investment themes
- Interfacing and negotiating with external counterparties

Preferred
- 2-3 years of finance or investment banking experience
- Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, or a related subject
- Possesses superior finance, accounting, valuation, modeling, and Excel skills as well as a critical problem-solving experience
- Keen interest in the financial markets and good commercial instincts.
- Interest in credit/debt is preferred but not mandatory
Compensation
The base salary for this position is expected to be between $150,000 and $200,000. The base salary offered to the selected candidate will be commensurate with a candidate’s relevant experience and other qualifications for the position, as determined by Sixth Street in its sole discretion.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and a competitive benefits package. Benefits offered currently include health, life, long-term and short-term disability insurance and a 401(k) plan. In addition, this role is eligible for paid public holidays (NYSE calendar), paid sick days pursuant to local laws, and additional reasonable time off subject to manager approval.
If a job offer is extended for a location other than San Francisco, the salary range may differ based on the location.
