Overview
The Operational Risk Analyst will lead, challenge and support LGIM Chicago across all teams locally in relation to Operational Resilience and provide specific Operational Risk support to GCOO functions in Chicago.
This will involve owning, maintaining, and improving GCOOs operational risks, controls, monitoring, risk reporting and ensuring that LGIM Chicago has the appropriate operational resilience plans / contingencies in place, which must be validated via testing. The candidate must have a robust knowledge of the risk & resilience landscape via practical experience supported by good industry / regulatory knowledge and insight.
The role will be instrumental to provide oversight, guidance and support the business to minimise the impact of disruptions through pro-active risk management, preparation and effective responses to incidents and risk events. The role requires significant collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team and Team Managers within LGIM Chicago and interaction with stakeholders across key LGIM locations.

Responsibilities
- Help manage risk and control environment, reduce risk profile, increase maturity in operational resilience, and improve robustness and scalability of our operating model for future growth.
- Provide regular risk and resilience reporting / updates to Governance Committees.
- Ensure LGIM resilience activities / controls are completed (business continuity/recovery plans, incident management processes etc) and documentation in the repository/portal.
- Ensure incident and crisis management activities are effective in resolving disruptions. Lead identification of root cause analysis and remedial actions, identify any lessons learned and monitor these improvements into BAU.
- Manage a threat identification and vulnerability analysis process to identify key resilience risks and establish how those outside of risk appetite are to be addressed.
- Work with the supplier management team to ensure that appropriate third-party resilience oversight, assessments and exit planning is in place.
- Lead resilience testing to ensure this takes place across all eight testing types and work with SMEs on this as appropriate, (DR testing, Cyber testing, work transfer testing, third party testing (joint testing / exit testing), contingency testing, Important Business Service Scenario testing, Incident response testing, and emergency cascade testing).
Qualifications
- A professional qualification is desirable; e.g accounting, Internal audit, Risk management or Compliance qualification.
- Knowledge of risk and control frameworks and resilience risks relating to business operations, technology platforms, digital channels, and third parties.
- Knowledge across resilience disciplines such as Business continuity, Incident and Crisis management, Disaster Recovery and third-party risk management.
- 4+ years’ experience within a similar function within the financial services industry.
