Position Summary
The Product Operations Senior Analyst will work within the Product Strategy team and will analyze enhance and optimize Distribution related workflows policies and procedures to product innovation efforts. The Senior Analyst will act as a project manager for all new and decommissioned product initiatives. They will be required to work cross-functionally with various teams across Guggenheim including Finance Distribution Legal Compliance Fund Accounting Operations and Investment Management to effectively support new product development custom solutions and other offerings as well as oversee and implement the restructuring or closing of strategies and products that are end of life not profitable or not commercial.
Essential Job Functions
- Project manager for all new and decommissioned product initiatives (i.e. SMAs, 40 Act Funds, Private Funds, UCITS, CLOs, etc.)
- Responsible for project plan and management of product launches, service provider selection, and product lifecycle management
- Analyze, enhance, and optimizes Distribution related workflows, policies, and procedures to product innovation efforts
- Coordinate with internal teams (i.e., Finance, Distribution, Legal, Compliance, Fund Accounting and Administration, Operations, and Investment Management) to effectively support new product development, custom solutions and other offerings
- Oversee and implement the restructuring or closing of strategies and products that are end of life, not profitable or not commercial
- Domain knowledge of structures and operational models of various investment vehicle types including but not limited to Open-End Funds, Closed-End Funds, ETFs, SMA Products, and Private Funds
- Operational project manager related to Distribution strategic projects (i.e. acquisitions, divestitures, product re-organizations/ conversions, integration/ implementation, ect.)
- Work with Operations, Application Development, Distribution teams to ensure operational readiness with regards to utilities, aggregators and distribution platforms (dealers, banks, RIAs)
- Understanding with sourcing and integration of distribution partner data to support business finance functions
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and change management of various investment vehicle types
- Supporting product development initiatives by developing requirements, test plans and operating models
- Understanding of fee structures and new product launch process
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity and security of data displayed in reports, dashboards, and CRM through validation processes and testing procedures
- Identify and lead continuous improvement opportunities with existing processes and leverage data and available systems to drive automation
- Support sales leadership in execution of product launch plans (i.e., internal and external trainings, sales communication, launch calls, roadshows, conference participation and fund closes)
- Provide subject matter expertise on business processes, data mapping, and system configurations of sales related data sets
- Enhance and own onboarding process and training for new hires in institutional, consultant and strategist Business Development roles.
- Monitor Guggenheim’s Salesforce policy and develop a proficient understanding of Salesforce functionality
Preferred Qualifications
Must Have Qualifications:
- At least 5 years in a product development function
- At least 3+ years in asset management
- 3+ years of project management experience
- Experience and understanding of asset management sales and related regulatory workflows
- Bachelor’s Degree required
Skills & Experience Required:
- 3+ years of experience within investment product, design, research and/or strategy
- Investments acumen with broad knowledge across asset classes (both active and passive strategies), with the application of asset classes to vehicles and client segments.
- Finra Series 7 & 63 upon hire; Finra Series 24 within 12 months of hire
- Strong knowledge of the asset management industry, specifically Fixed Income, including investor types, distribution channels, competitor landscape, investment products.
- In depth knowledge of pooled product structures including 40 Act, collective fund structures, interval funds and hedge funds is a plus
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to summarize and articulate complex concepts to a senior / executive audience
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Morningstar, Lipper, Bloomberg, Factset, eVestment
Basic Qualifications
In addition, the ideal candidate will have or will be:
- Advanced / master’s degree in finance, Business or other related field is a plus
- Track record of contributing to the design of innovative, strategic investment products
- Strong project management experience
- Delivery focused, driven, with high level of resilience
- In depth experience in product development with a focus on commingled and single-investor private fund structures, including legal and tax considerations as well as investor and operational support models
- Ability to clearly communicate objectives across a range of stakeholders, including senior management and to articulate the rationale behind those goals
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects at the same time in a time pressured environment
- Strong cross-functional team building and management skills (i.e. partnering with multiple distribution channels, marketing, finance, fund accounting and administration, legal and compliance)
Salary Details
Annual base salary between $135,000 and $150,000.
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. Actual base salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and experience. The range listed reflects base salary only, and the total compensation package may include other components such as incentive compensation.
Currently, this role is expected to be in the New York office at least 4 days per week with occasional travel to Stamford, CT office.
