ASSISTANT MANAGER - GUERNSEY
Summary Of The Position
Work within the Guernsey fund administration team to service a wide range of investment fund structures. The position is varied and offers a chance to gain exposure to all aspects of fund administration. The role involves working closely with other members of the team locally and in South Africa, plus constant liaison with fund managers and Boards.
Outline Of Main Duties And Responsibilities
The Assistant Manager will be expected to:
- Act as a ‘B’ signatory on behalf of the Company
- Arrange and coordinate client Board meetings, prepare Board packs, track actions arising.
- Attend and minute Board meetings.
- Act as day- to- day relationship lead for allocated client groups, ensuring all fund administration tasks are carried out and client service levels are maintained. Liaise with client and fund Boards, dealing with queries in an efficient manner.
- Review and approve payments for various fund expenses;
- Review and approve client Board packs before distribution;
- Ensure timely billing of Maitland fees
- Onboarding and ongoing risk review of investors & promoters
- Assist with training of junior members of staff and oversee junior team members on a day to day basis;
- Other tasks as agreed.
Skills And Experience Required
The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:
Skills
- Experience of Company Secretarial Function
- Basic understanding of Financial Statements process.
- Knowledge of Guernsey Statutory and Regulatory requirements
- The individual will need to be self-motivated, conscientious and able to work to and meet tight deadlines as well as being able to ensure work is completed to a high standard.
- It is essential the candidate is reliable and flexible as far as working hours are required.
- Good communication skills and ability to communicate well at all levels both internally and externally.
- Excellent computer skills, in particular Word and Excel, are an essential requirement
Education And Experience
- 5-10 years proven financial services industry experience with an emphasis on fund administration
- Ideally be studying towards or hold a relevant professional qualification (EG ICSA Certificate level or equivalent)
Reporting structure
The Assistant Manager will report to a Manager / Director based in Guernsey.
Remuneration level
Remuneration will be market related and commensurate with experience and seniority. In addition, the successful candidate will receive a competitive benefits package.
