Position: Financial Planner (In-Office Role - Chicago Office)
We are looking for a highly qualified candidate for a Financial Planner position who is a self-starter with strong presentation, organizational and analytical skills. The Financial Planner will support advisory teams in Chicago as well as nationwide alongside New York based Managing Director on all Financial & Estate planning functions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Planning Resource
- Act as resource for distribution of financial planning concepts, issues and updates to advisory teams.
- Experience with planning for UHNW clientele with a focus on founders and executives.
- Oversee other Financial Planning training programs and initiatives as needed.
- Financial planning tools
- Primary responsibility for collection of client financial information and entry into Jefferies financial planning system.
- Ensuring that data in planning system is valid and up-to-date.
- Report generation and formatting.
- Train advisory team members on usage of, and best practices for eMoney.
- Maintenance of connections to custodial firms.
- Platform
- Expected to be key member of team driving the growth of financial planning platform for Chicago-based advisory teams.
Required Background:
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong interest in financial planning
- Familiarity with financial planning concepts (estates & trusts, insurance, stock options, taxes, cash flow planning)
- Experience with financial planning software; prior experience with eMoney preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Power Point, Excel, etc.
- Basic knowledge of investments and financial markets
- Strong analytical and technical abilities.
- Strong communication and follow-up skills
Experience/ Skills:
- 4-year college degree
- 1 to 3 years' industry experience
- SIE – Securities Industry Essentials Examination AND
- Series 7 General Securities Representative Exam AND
- Series 63 Uniform Securities Agent State Law Exam AND
- Series 65 Uniform Investment Advisor, OR
- Series 66 Uniform Combined State Law/ Investment
- CFP, CPA or similar certification.
Primary Location Full Time Salary Range of $120,000 - $130,000.
The salary offered will take into consideration an individual’s experience level and qualifications.
