Position Summary
The Client & Fund Reporting department has oversight responsibility over the operations, accounting, and financial reporting of the various entities in both the marketable securities and private credit strategies managed by TCW.
The Fund Accounting Officer will be an integral member within the Client and Fund Reporting group and will be responsible for the funds’ accounting, investment valuations, cash flows, reporting to investors and senior management, as well as, the ongoing design and execution of the control environment.
Essential Duties
- Manage and oversee service providers such as fund administrators, custodian, transfer agents and external auditors
- Review daily, monthly or quarterly NAVs, investor allocations, capital calls, subscriptions/redemptions, distribution, fee calculations, valuations, expenses and cash reconciliations
- Review portfolio performance, ensuring all investment activities are accurately reflected in the financials
- Responsible for timely financial reporting, including fund-level reporting with the SEC and senior management and investor reporting such as capital account statements, performance analyses and ad hoc requests.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax preparers and/or third-party fund administrators to oversee completion of annual audits and assist in tax filings
- Review fund expenses and coordinate the payments to vendors
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory bodies(e.g., SEC, FINRA, IRS, CIMA)
- Monitor cash balances, manage liquidity and ensure sufficient funds are available for investments and operations including lines of credit
- Collaborate with internal teams (i.e. client services, tax, middle office, investor relations, sales and marketing team, business manager and investment team) as part of day-to-day responsibilities and special projects
- Manage investor inquiries and provide transparency into fund operations, fees and performance metrics
- Implement internal controls and risk management processes to safeguard fund
- Manage accounting staff personnel upon team expansion
- Perform other duties as responsibilities dictate
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics or related field
- 8-10 years of financial accounting and reporting experience
- CPA / CFA with experience within investment company servicing alternative / private credit products preferred
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting, financial reporting
- Knowledge of private credit and relevant valuation techniques
- Understanding of SEC regulations applicable to retail alternative funds
- Prior experience with a Big 4 accounting firm a plus

- Working knowledge of Microsoft software including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Estimated Compensation:
Base Salary: For an NY based position, the base salary range is $140k to $170k. This is an anticipated range only.
Other Compensation: Eligible to be considered for an annual discretionary bonus
