Team / division overview
Our Fund Finance & Reporting group is looking to hire a Private Debt Fund Finance Controller to join their team. The position is within the firm’s Illiquid Asset Operations (IAO) division at RREEF Management LLC, an alternatives investment advisor which is a wholly owned subsidiary of DWS. In this role, the Fund Finance Controller will be responsible for the financial reporting and certain operational aspects for investment vehicles to be launched as part of the firm’s newly mandated private debt funds business. Responsibilities include overseeing the out-sourced fund administration function, ensuring timely and accurate completion of vehicle financial statements, liaising with third service providers and interfacing with current and potential investors on information requests. This role also has cross-functional visibility and the opportunity to work alongside internal groups, such as Portfolio & Asset management, Client Service & Marketing, external service providers, and clients. The team works in a hybrid working environment with 3 days spent at the office each week.
Role Details
As a Fund Finance Associate, you will (be):
Maintains strong cross-functional relationships, consistent communication and cooperation with the IAO team and other groups at RREEF to support department and company initiatives.
Support the product launch process from an accounting and operational set-up perspective including assisting with sourcing tax and audit vendors, ensuring appropriate set-up within the relevant accounting and reporting systems, and aid various teams involved in the product development process including Portfolio Management, Compliance, Governance, and Client Servicing & Marketing.
Manage the review process for select real estate vehicles including monthly and quarterly accounting close packages, quarterly financial statements and footnotes, annual audit reports, and investor reporting related deliverables including distributions, tax withholding and redemption tracking.
Provide guidance to fund administrator and review the accounting for more complex transactions and calculations including joint venture consolidation analyses, promote waterfall calculations, tiered fee calculations, and incentive fee/carry calculations.
Manage the process and relationships with third-party service providers including the Fund Administrator, auditors, and tax advisors.
Review and approval of fund level invoice payments and oversee and manage the annual fund level budgeting process.
Monitor transaction pipeline for assigned investment products, assist Transactions and Portfolio Management teams as needed, and manage the review of the accounting and tax reporting for the transaction.
Liaise with third party tax providers to manage the annual tax returns/1099s/K-1’s reporting process as well as tax planning strategies.
Monitor and assist with regulatory reporting and loan compliance requirements.
Collaborate on deliverables and projects with other RREEF teams including Portfolio Management, CFO group, Asset Management, Transactions, Client Advisory Group, and Capital Markets
Responsible for managing assigned direct report(s) and delegating responsibilities and tasks
Stay educated on accounting industry updates including new GAAP accounting literature and NCREIF PREA Reporting Standards
We are looking for
Experience with direct lending funds preferred
Minimum of 6-8 years total experience of accounting with a mix of private and public accounting experience preferred
Four-year college degree required with a concentration in accounting or related business field
CPA designation a plus
Experience with master/feeder vehicle structures preferred
Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic team environment
Motivated, self-started with the ability to problem solve
Strong attention to detail
Experience managing others both directly or indirectly
Proficiency in the use of Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

The salary range for this position in New York City is $93,000 to $141,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of renumeration.
