Director Quant Software Development
The Role
Fidelity’s Asset Management Technology Division is seeking a Director of Quant Development to join their Quant Research Technology Team. This is a core software engineering role in our dynamic and fast-paced quantitative development team. You will build high quality, robust, and efficient solutions, framework, and APIs that will be used to manage & govern Systematic Fixed Income research & portfolio construction processes. This role impacts the organization by improving the quality and time-to-market of Research initiatives through a combination of both analytical and software development skillsets. The assignments will include gathering the ideas, engineering design, conceptualizing them through a programming language, and creating a packaged solution that can be used by the investment professionals.

The Expertise You Have
- Bachelor’s (Masters preferred) in a quantitative or computational field such as Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering
- 10+ years of experience in a software engineering environment supporting investment management processes with different asset class securities.
- Strong software engineering design & development skills, including Python, shell scripting, SQL, Java and Linux preferably in a command line environment.
- Strong AWS cloud technology skills
- Experience or familiarity with Fixed Income asset class is a plus
- Object Oriented design & development experience, ideally with Java/Python
- Familiarity with quantitative techniques and methods, statistics, econometrics – including probability, linear regression, time series data analysis and optimizations is a plus
- Experience in designing and developing methods and solutions related to quantitative analytics, risk & pricing models
- Full-stack software development knowledge and critical thinking skills to design optimal solutions
- Ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders, including fundamental and quantitative researchers and technology partners
The Team
Asset Management Technology (AMT) provides worldwide technology and support to all the Investment Management, Research, Trading, and Investment Operations functions. We are seeking a Director, Quant Development to join our Quantitative Research & Investing Technology organization. This role will be part of our Quantitative Engineering team, which is responsible for architecting, developing, and maintaining a new quant research oriented meta-data programming language.

The base salary range for this position is $103,000-$218,000 per year.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
