Responsibilities Include
- Lead strategic asset allocation process working across Portfolio Managers to design Institutional retirement investment solutions and manage client portfolios for OCIO’s defined benefit and defined contribution clients.
- Engage with internal advisors, consultants and clients on multi-asset portfolio strategies, liability driven investing solutions, risk budgeting and management, asset allocation, manager selection, portfolio construction and pension/investment education materials
- Coordinate with clients to secure relevant actuarial and demographic information to complete asset liability and related studies and integrate results into investment strategies and asset allocation.
- Engage with clients to perform client discovery, draft investment policy statements, provide quarterly reporting, and other tasks relevant to the DB/DC space
- Ensure the smooth-functioning of administrative and operational activities, including those involving outside custodians and trading, reporting, and client cash flows
- Contribute to new business efforts by attending and presenting to prospective clients; assisting in customization of RFP answers as well as other sales/marketing efforts
- Along with other subject matter experts; help create commercial institutional intellectual capital for advisors to use with clients and prospects to engage on topics related to the areas of expertise
Knowledge And Skills Required
- Experience and knowledge in global capital markets, technical expertise across asset classes preferred
- Firm understanding of portfolio management concepts including modern portfolio theory, asset allocation, portfolio construction, manager selection, risk management and performance attribution
- High degree of computer proficiency is required, specifically the use of Excel and the ability to manage investment models and databases. Experience with Morningstar, Bloomberg, PFaroe DB, @Risk, R programming or Aladdin is a plus
- Must be detail oriented and able to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline oriented, multi-task environment
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proactive & hard working with strong professional accountability
- FINRA Series 7 and 66 (or 63/65) licenses required or willingness to obtain within 180 days of hire
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $150,000 and $250,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
