We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Director, Global Head of Risk and Control Assessment (RCSA) Program to join our Operational Risk Team. This role is located in New York, NY (3 days / a week in office).
This second line of defense role will lead and be responsible for the firmwide, RCSA program including policy, tooling, and reporting. The employee will be responsible for managing and enhancing the program, working with stakeholders throughout the firm (all lines of defense). A successful candidate will have a change agent mindset with risk management experience.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Define requirements and best practices for the assessment, monitoring and reporting of operational risk.
- Drive outputs from the assessment regarding the risks to business activities and effectiveness of the control environment.
- Create efficiencies and risk management insights by utilizing tools and automation.
- Enhance 2LOD’s ability to monitor business line’s adherence to the RCSA Policy.
- Increase connectivity to other risk and control related assessment that the firm performs.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- 10-15 years prior work experience in a global, financial or professional services firm.
- Prior operational risk experience (first of second line of defense), RCSA experience strongly preferred.
- Global program management experience required.
- Prior experience managing a global team of people to ensure program milestones are managed and met under tight deadlines and competing priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues across all lines of defense.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with colleagues and present to internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to learn and assimilate new information quickly.
- Bachelor’s degree with a focus in business, finance, or related discipline are preferred. Relevant industry qualifications are an advantage.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $200,000 and $300,00 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and company- sponsored benefit programs.
