Job overview
The individual is responsible for supporting the growth, quality, and reporting related to the investor dataset. This role is based in New York and will sit on the US Private Wealth team, specifically. Day-to-day responsibilities include: conducting primary research via direct outreach to investment professionals (via phone or email), conducting secondary research on investors, supporting team projects that increase coverage of the dataset, engaging in quality assurance activities, problem solving related to client requests, and conducting ad-hoc data pulls and summarizing trends.
This is achieved through operational excellence and clear day-to-day maintenance of the dataset & content, including core business-as-usual (BAU) tasks and going above and beyond to collaborate, innovate and execute on relevant ad-hoc projects to improve the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of data.
What you’ll be doing:
- Proactively build relationships with key professionals in the alternative assets industry to gather proprietary information on investment activities
- Update Preqin’s online database with financial information, statistics, and analysis
- Serve as a subject matter expert for the dataset, supporting stakeholders in understanding data management processes
- Troubleshoot escalated data quality incidents, collaborating with regional and global stakeholders
- Assist in day-to-day data operations to achieve operational excellence
- Support senior team members on research projects and data enhancement activities
- Conduct ad-hoc data analysis for clients and supplement with qualitative research when necessary
- Provide support to ensure timely delivery of publications and content for Research Insights, Product & Marketing Groups, etc.
What you’ll bring to us:
- 0-3 years of work experience that highlights your ability to learn and adapt quickly
- Must possess excellent relationship-building skills
- Interest in – or existing knowledge of - alternative markets is a plus
- Prior experience with a high-volume of outgoing communication is preferred – e.g. cold-calling, sales role, etc.
- Proven ability to think critically and pro-actively
- Ability to be flexible and quickly adapt to changing processes or business needs is essential
- Basic proficiency in Excel and MS Office Suite is required
- Ability to succeed and thrive in a KPI-based goals environment
- Ability to prioritize tasks appropriate and manage time effectively
- Education requirement: Bachelor degree
