This position will report through to the Senior Managing Director (“SMD”) of Southeast Conventional Production. The Associate will be primarily responsible for assisting in the review of conventional multifamily and MHC loan requests throughout the nation and will work side-by-side with seasoned professionals on a substantial volume of multifamily and MHC transactions. The Production Associate will work on live transactions as they move from originations to closing and interact with a wide range of industry participants.
The Associate will also assist in making informed underwriting recommendations, provide analytical support to the originators, assist on agency loan screenings, term sheet/application preparations, loan submission narratives preparation, and help ensure a highly efficient loan process from quote to close.
Purpose and Job Summary
The Hagwood / Southeast Originations Team of Lument an Analyst / Production Associate for its growing Agency, FHA and proprietary loan originations platform.
The Associate will be primarily responsible for assisting in the review of conventional multifamily and MHC loan requests throughout the nation and will work side-by-side with seasoned professionals on a substantial volume of multifamily and MHC transactions. The Production Associate will work on live transactions as they move from originations to closing and interact with a wide range of industry participants.
The Associate will also assist in making informed underwriting recommendations, provide analytical support to the originators, assist on agency loan screenings, term sheet/application preparations, loan submission narratives preparation, and help ensure a highly efficient loan process from quote to close.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Works with both Lument’s production and credit underwriting teams for preparation and submission of loan presentations to the agencies, FHA and balance sheet/proprietary programs.
Assists with the front end screening of loan requests by reviewing and analyzing historical income, expense statements, and lease summary/rent rolls for each transaction.
Summarizes historical property operations and performs credit and financial analysis of key principals and guarantors.
Prepares loan applications and loan submission narratives.
Reviews third party reports (appraisals, PCAs and ESAs) for accuracy and completeness.
Works collaboratively with the production and underwriting platforms to problem solve and develop creative transaction structuring solutions while delivering best-in-class execution and client experience.
Assists originators with prospecting and lead generation of potential new clients.
Provide credible loan recommendations to supervisors and senior management based on market research and analysis.
Initiates and facilitates process enhancement concepts and business development ideas.
Drives production and revenue results by supporting the production officers.
Attends and represents the company at conferences, events and other meetings as appropriate.
Keeps abreast of existing and new products being developed in the marketplace and stays informed of key industry trends and products being offered by competitors.
Education, Skills & Experience
Bachelor or Master’s degree with a concentration in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, and/or Business.
2 - 5 years Experience in the industry is strongly preferred.
Excellent proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and relevant web-based applications.
