The Data Center Operations team designs, constructs, and manages the advanced physical infrastructure supporting CTC technology. As the manager for this team, you will lead and develop a team of engineers, ensuring the high-quality installation and management of server and networking hardware components. You will oversee complex installations across CTC's global data centers and offices. Your responsibilities will include installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining hardware, as well as leading cross-functional project teams on larger installations and driving detailed project plans. You will become part of a close-knit team that values collaboration, transparency, expertise, and a passion for solving complex challenges.
What You'll Do
- Develop and enforce guidelines and standards for the maintenance, upkeep, and repair of both critical and non-critical infrastructure across all CTC data center and office locations.
- Lead operations in a dynamic, hands-on, 24/7 environment with a focus on achieving zero business interruptions.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure Engineering counterparts to promote efficiency and share lessons learned across teams.
- Oversee the scope and scheduling of preventive maintenance programs, order materials, schedule projects, and coordinate vendor maintenance, ensuring that all affected teams are informed of any planned outages. This includes scheduling tests for all electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
- Respond as needed to after-hours system maintenance and any system complications or outages.
- Manage relationships with external vendors for specialized services and outsourced functions. Ensure comprehensive scopes of work, robust reporting and tracking, and delivering value to the company. Collaborate closely with Finance and Procurement teams.
- Review critical infrastructure systems for deficiencies and potential business interruption and establish remediation plans.
- Prioritize team tasks, provide mentorship, and offer technical direction for site technicians.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in computing infrastructure, networking, operating systems, or hardware.
- Demonstrated experience in leading technical teams, managing vendors or contracts, and ensuring timely project delivery.
- Extensive experience working in data center environments, including the construction and operation of large-scale infrastructure, network and compute architecture, lifecycle management, and Linux/Unix system administration.
- Proven track record of initiating and driving critical initiatives in a global context.
- Experience in managing critical environment across multiple sites.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills, with a proven ability to mentor and work effectively with a diverse workforce.
- Excellent organizational abilities and strong communication skills for conveying information to management and operational partners
- Demonstrated expertise in building automation systems, HVAC, electrical distribution, and related areas.
- Proficiency in Linux administration or experience with other command-line interfaces
