The Colony Group seeks a motivated and qualified individual for the position of Operations Associate. In this role, the individual will work with a team to support the day-to-day operations of a large financial advisory firm. This is a central seat with exposure to all aspects of the firm including, but not limited to, Operations & Technology, Client Service, Wealth Management, Investment Management, and Compliance. The ideal candidate is a natural leader who is organized, shows attention to detail, is solution-orientated, and flexible.
Primary responsibilities for this position include:
- Processing account applications, asset-transfer forms, and client-specific requests at various custodians (e.g., check requests, distributions);
- Communicating and interfacing with custodians on behalf of client(s), and initiating proactive follow-through on such action points;
- Maintaining and updating databases using multiple technologies, in connection with new securities, new assets, reconciliation inputs, etc.;
- Assisting with The Colony Group’s quarterly investment reporting to clients;
- Assisting the Chief Compliance Officer and wealth management teams with internal compliance and external custodian paperwork necessary for new accounts and assets;
- Conduct bi-weekly and monthly audits of internal systems (including restrictions, asset categorization, performance reconciliation; and
- Maintaining electronic and physical records and files in an orderly fashion.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1+ years of operations/client service experience in financial services;
- Familiarity with brokerage or registered investment advisory firm operations;
- A basic understanding of investments and the financial markets;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and proven ability to learn other software and technology;
- Notable attention to detail, self-initiated follow-through, and outstanding time management and organizational skills;
- Strong quantitative and analytical abilities, and excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to juggle multiple and competing tasks and demands; and
- Familiarity with Tamarac & Salesforce systems a plus but not required.
$50-55k
This is a non-exempt position.
