The Associate Principal Analyst in FINRA CAT Regulatory Engagement is responsible for supporting regulators who interface with the Consolidated Audit Trail. This includes the development of training initiatives, delivery of end-user documentation, and maintaining strong relationships and a communication pipeline with the users. This role works across the FINRA CAT business to advocate for the regulatory user experience while promoting solutions that improve the usability of the audit trail.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintains strong ties and relationships with regulators to facilitate efficient use of CAT; solicits feedback on CAT’s processes, performance, and utility to further the goals of the audit trail; supports development of and delivers CAT educational programs for regulators and CAT Reporters.
- Demonstrates broad understanding of market regulation and surveillance, including Regulation NMS Rule 613.
- Supports development of improvements that maximize effectiveness and usability of the audit trail.
- Collaborates with product development team to author and review end-user documentation supporting both CAT Regulatory Users and CAT Reporters.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or Business, and a minimum of four (4) years of experience in the financial services industry or regulation, at FINRA, or other similarly situated organizations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of the securities industry and regulatory use of the CAT data required.
- Strong collaborator and team builder, with excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

- This position requires occasional travel.

IL*: Minimum Salary $87,500, Maximum Salary $156,600
Jersey City, NJ/NY, NY: Minimum Salary $95,400, Maximum Salary $170,900
MD/Washington, DC: Minimum Salary $91,500, Maximum Salary $163,700
WA: Minimum Salary $79,500, Maximum Salary $163,700
*Including positions performed outside the state but reporting to an office or manager in that state.
