Putnam Investments, a Specialized Investment Manager (SIM) of Franklin Templeton, is a diversified, equity-only asset manager with roots dating back to 1937. We manage a range of active equity portfolios with a focus on stock-specific opportunities. About The Opportunity
The
Strategy and Operations Analyst collaborates with colleagues across Putnam as well as the broader Franklin Templeton organization to drive Putnam’s long-term growth. In this role, the Strategy and Operations Analyst conducts competitive research, drives product initiatives, manages operations and technology projects, and otherwise supports Putnam’s strategic agenda. This position will be located in our
Boston office.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of this role?
- Conduct market research to inform Putnam’s long-term product roadmap
- Coordinate across business units to implement Putnam’s product initiatives
- Align with Putnam’s leadership team to build, monitor, and drive the firm’s long-term growth roadmap
- Partner with distribution and investment colleagues to propose and approve product-level pricing
- Drive competitive intelligence efforts for Putnam’s client portfolio managers and leadership team
- Manage complex, long-term projects related to Putnam’s investment operations and technology
- Address various ad hoc inquiries and projects across all areas of Putnam’s business
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 3-7 years asset management industry experience
- Ability to simplify and communicate complex information to various audiences both visually and verbally
- Cross-functional project management expertise
- Willingness to simultaneously tackle projects across different subjects, audiences, and timelines
- Extensive experience with Excel and PowerPoint
- Preferred: CFA or progress towards completion
- Preferred: Familiarity with industry data (eVestment, Morningstar Direct, Lipper, Simfund, etc.)
Compensation Range: Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. The salary, benefits and variable rewards will reflect the seniority of the position and a competitive market rate. We expect the annual salary for this position to range between $115,000 to $135,000.
