The Global Portfolio Management (GPM) group is the team responsible for managing Prudential’s proprietary investment portfolios globally. GPM develops asset-liability management-oriented portfolio strategies that include target levels of interest rate exposure and asset allocation among various public and private fixed income sectors and alternative assets. GPM implements these portfolio strategies by selecting, directing, and overseeing asset managers with scale and demonstrated expertise in the management of specific asset classes.
The current employee work arrangement for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.
What you can expect:
Support ALM strategy for Prudential’s Bermudan entities by developing Strategic Asset Allocation, ensuring appropriateness of portfolio benchmarks, engaging in large scale portfolio-related initiatives and transactions, and providing investment support for product pricing and development
- Assess tactical asset allocation opportunities recommended by PMs, GIS, and PGIM, and assist in quantifying the overall impact in Bermuda, including the impact on Adjusted Operating Income, risk, capital, and reserves
- Engage with GPM portfolio managers and analytics team on implementation of ALM strategies, portfolio repositioning, risk monitoring, and reporting
- Work closely with Actuarial partners to improve ALM analytics and processes.
- Represent GPM with respect to Bermuda initiatives with corporate partners including ERM, Actuarial, Finance and Tax
- Support communication of portfolio investment and risk management themes (e.g. Strategic Asset Allocations, Business Unit ALCOs, Legal entity ICs, Income Attribution, Economic Benchmarking and NII Forecasts) for USPM
- Provide analytical support to Business Unit Strategists for key business/product initiatives
- Support PMs in managing cash, liquidity, portfolio appetite, limit monitoring and special transactions
- Participate in portfolio management/market discussions
- Key collaboration partner with other CIO groups
What you’ll need:
- Seven (7) or more years’ experience in complex financial analysis, fixed income markets, derivative modeling and/or portfolio asset liability management
- Bachelor's Degree
- Excellent project management skills
- Ability and confidence to challenge constructively in meetings
- Proven analytical and research experience applying same in an investment, risk or actuarial assignment
- Strong reasoning and excellent written communication skills. Ability to understand complex technical investment and financial issues and synthesize knowledge into clear business terms to inform senior management decision-making
- Solid understanding of ALM and varying liability structures
- Demonstrated efficiency working independently and in multi-disciplinary teams
- Self-starter with ability to multi-task and work effectively under a multifaceted environment with limited direct supervision.
It’d be a plus if you had:
- CFA designation, FSA and/or MBA
- Experience in Bermudan frameworks from an investment and/or actuarial perspective highly preferred
- Knowledge of Prudential’s businesses and products with experience in analysis of insurance products

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $175,000 to $200,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
