Job Description
The Associate for Strategic Partnerships will play a pivotal role in supporting all facets of Portfolio Management and Investor Relations for the team. The responsibilities include generating client reporting, providing support for investor meetings, handling the internal pipeline, and completing ad hoc client requests. The role involves working to manage and service some of the world’s largest institutional investors and most strategically valuable Ares clients, which requires the highest level of support. This position provides high visibility across the entire Ares platform and will be based in New York.
The Strategic Partnerships team works to deepen Ares’ relationships with select LPs, which includes relationship development as well as investment and portfolio management for investors. The Strategic Partnerships team also works closely with business stakeholders across the platform including Ares’ four business lines as well as operational teams (e.g., Relationship Management, Finance & Accounting, Legal, Compliance, Investor Operations & Services, Tax, Quantitative Research Group, etc.).

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
Reports to: Managing Director, Strategic Partnerships
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Generate customized client reports, both recurring and ad-hoc, which includes collaborating with internal teams to collate relevant information and synthesizing data
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of client meetings, including recurring quarterly meetings
- Use client relationship management systems like Salesforce to actively manage and track business development pipeline. This includes writing and publishing client meeting note summaries and tracking investor interactions.
- Consolidate and analyze portfolio data to respond to client requests
- Create various internal and external presentations, including marketing materials and client proposals
- Create and maintain documentation of team processes and procedures
- Manage delivery of client documents to Investor Portal (Intralinks) in collaboration with internal teams
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal subject matter experts across the firm, including Finance & Accounting, Legal, Compliance, Relationship Management, Investor Operations & Services, Product Mgmt and IR, Performance and Quantitative Research Group
- Take on ad hoc projects and support all other teammates with their work as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: College graduate with major in Economics, Finance, General Business or Management preferred, with outstanding academic record
Experience Required:
- 3-5 years of work experience in a fast-paced, self-driven role
- Prior experience in the asset management or financial services industry preferred, but not required
- Series SIE, 7 and 63, or ability to obtain

Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.
$125,000 - $145,000 / annum
