EARNEST Partners is seeking candidates with industry experience (e.g., consumer, energy, financial services, healthcare, …) for a position on the Equity investment team. Prior finance experience is not required – in fact, we value individuals with diverse backgrounds and real-world operating experience – as we believe that industry practitioners can bring insights that help us make outperforming investment decisions.
You will be part of a diverse investment team with an immediate ability to make a real impact by generating stock ideas as well as scrutinizing recommendations made by other team members. The small size and entrepreneurial nature of the team provides opportunities to make a real impact on the long-term direction of the firm.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide a unique and original perspective that will enable the firm to have more correct and differentiated investment judgments leading to superior returns for our clients
- Conduct extensive fundamental research and analysis to understand the core drivers and prospects of a business, determine whether it represents an attractive opportunity, and present the idea during investment team meetings
- Make buy/sell decisions for stocks across domestic and international products as a member of the equity investment team
- Lead meetings with executive management, industry contacts, and research analysts to identify investment opportunities and risks
- Lead quarterly presentations to clients; present results, share the firm’s investment philosophy, and discuss specific holdings at board meetings
- Support new business initiatives and interact with prospective clients
