Position Rockefeller Asset Management is seeking a Director of High Yield Municipal Credit Research with 7+ years’ experience to work, preferably, in the firm’s Rochester, NY location with the opportunity for a hybrid schedule. This individual will contribute to the investment process primarily by providing fundamental research and analysis on a wide range of municipal sectors including high yield municipal bond issuers to assess current and expected risk profile.
This is an opportunity to have a meaningful impact in the evolution of the municipal business that has seen rapid growth both in municipal SMAs and high yield municipal fund assets over the past two years, with continued upside ahead. The individual will report to Rockefeller Asset Management’s Director of Fixed Income.

Responsibilities - Contribute to the investment process by providing fundamental municipal credit research across the entire municipal market including high yield and non rated credits
- Build and maintain financial models
- Author credit reports that include an issuers’ economic, financial, debt and administrative factors that impact their current and expected credit risk profile
- Responsible for sourcing new investment opportunities and for surveillance of existing holdings
- Responsible for investment committee presentations and ad hoc commentary on topical policies and/or news impacting municipal finance
- Maintain the municipal credit database
- Develop relationships with rating agencies and sell-side analysts
- Partner with distribution team to provide thought pieces on the Municipal market
- Opportunity to lead team of analysts across the entire municipal and fixed income business as the business evolves
Qualifications- 7+ years of municipal credit analyst experience preferably from the buy side, but other relevant experience will be considered
- Bachelor's degree in finance or related field, ideally with a post-graduate qualification (MBA and/or CFA)
- Experienced with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Bloomberg required, knowledge of Perform preferred
- Broad knowledge of the municipal bond universe and depth across multiple high yield sectors
- Advanced knowledge of financial statement modeling and analysis, economics, finance, public finance and the asset management industry
- Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and ability to reason
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Team player with an entrepreneurial attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and good work ethic
- Act as resource for peers, provide candid feedback and promote constructive dialogues to advance growth
Compensation Range The anticipated base salary range for this role is $200,000 to $210,000. Base salary for the role will depend on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown. In addition, this role may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
