Purpose of the position
As an
RFP Manager, you will report to the Head of RFP Americas and become a vital member of the Business Development Services team at a leading Asset Management firm that highly values sales support roles. Your role will be crucial in bolstering our business development initiatives
Job Duties
As an RFP Manager, the role will entail:
- Work in close partnership with essential stakeholders and senior team members throughout the company to fulfill Requests for Proposals (RFP), Requests for Information (RFI), and Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQ).
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex DDQs, RFIs and RFPs
- Complete other assigned RFP tasks including preparation of response materials, capturing data, and analyzing data
- Lead workload meetings
- Manage incoming requests, including ad-hoc questions
- Participate in peer review
- Update sample RFPs and monthly/quarterly deliverables as assigned
Content Management
- Keep abreast of changes within the firm, product offerings and asset management industry
- Maintain consistency and quality of language and data in RFP database; QVIDIAN
- Ensure changes are consistently reflected in documents
Manage the RFP Process
- Lead RFP kickoff discussions with key partners
- Establish project timelines
- Secure sign-offs from partners; Sales/Relationship Management, Investment Specialists, Legal/Compliance etc.
- Ensure bids are submitted on time and to the highest professional standard
- Engage in follow-up work associated with RFPs moving to the next phase: coordinate answers, obtain additional information
Other
- Contribute to team discussions and participates in projects aimed at process improvement solutions and efficiency of the team
- Mentor junior team members
- Build relationships and develop solid understanding of products and sales initiatives
- Develop the RFP Team’s profile with stakeholders and senior members of the firm
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) required, preferably with a Business/Finance background
- Two year experience within a financial/professional services organization preferred
Skills
The ideal candidate will be encouraged to have/be able to:
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks within a short deadline in a high pressure, fast paced environment with conflicting deadlines
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, coordinate, analyze and disseminate significant amount of data/information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable in collaborating with multiple departments across the organization; senior investment professionals, investment specialists, sales/relationship managers, product management, operations, legal, and compliance
- Technology proficient
- Ability to quickly adapt to new technological advancements
- Skill in optimizing usage for enhancing efficiency, and resolving issues
- Ability to utilize technology for effective and professional communication, information organization, and creation of high-quality documents
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro and able to quickly master systems and applications; Salesforce, SharePoint, QVIDIAN, Power BI and other internal systems and applications
- Strong attention to details and follow-up skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Proactive in tackling additional responsibilities and projects
Conditions of Work
- Flexible on work hours
- 0-10 hours overtime per week
- 0-5% travel
- Initial training is primarily on-the-job, focusing on abrdn Investments solutions, content, processes and systems
- Continuing education is designed to enhance job performance and improve knowledge of broad market issues, industry and economic trends, as well as enhanced knowledge of abrdn products and services
