Apollo is searching for a full-stack developer with solid data pipeline and backend data experience to join the Deal Pipeline Management and Investment Workflow team within the Investment Technology division. This role focuses on DealCloud and its integration with tools such as Everest or Salesforce. The ideal candidate is hands-on, independent, and capable of managing workflow implementations. This role requires specialized data knowledge, an understanding of investment data, and the ability to transform data and perform ad hoc analysis. The position offers the opportunity to join a growing technology team and interact broadly with product users across Apollo.
Primary Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Innovation:
Define and execute the strategic vision for the DealCloud Deal Pipeline Management Platform.
Collaborate with senior management and stakeholders to align the platform’s roadmap with business objectives.
Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies (AI) to drive innovation.
Team Management and Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of developers, ensuring alignment with project goals and company standards.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that promotes excellence and continuous improvement.
Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management of team members.
Project and Technical Management:
Drive the end-to-end project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, planning, execution, testing, and deployment.
Implement Agile Sprint based project planning.
Evaluate existing business processes to build specifications for system configuration.
Provide technical direction and oversight in the design and development of the Deal Pipeline Management Platform.
Ensure the use of modern, scalable, and secure architectures and technologies.
Conduct regular code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
Understand the investment life cycles across Apollo businesses to define business requirements and build tech solutions
Communicate with investment deal teams to develop user stories and manage business questions affiliated with technology tools.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
Act as the primary point of contact for all matters related to the Deal Pipeline Management Platform.
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including business units, clients, and technology partners.
Effectively communicate project status, risks, and issues to senior management and stakeholders.
Workflow Implementation and Data Management:
Work on Deal Pipelines using vendor solutions, primarily focused on DealCloud.
Build new pipelines and implement new workflows on these tools in conjunction with business users.
Configure system settings and options, and implement unit/integration/acceptance testing.
Build custom reports using sophisticated query writing skills.
Build Data APIs through microservices.
Understand investment data to build data models and carry out reporting.
Manage data governance and data quality standard processes.
Quality Assurance and Performance Management:
Ensure the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance in the platform’s development and operation.
Implement rigorous testing and validation processes to ensure platform stability and security.
Monitor and manage platform performance, making necessary adjustments to optimize efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Extensive experience in financial services technology, specifically in deal pipeline management and CRM platforms.
Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex technology projects.
2-3+ years of recent experience working with Portfolio Managers / Front Office personnel to support a CRM or pipeline tool such as DealCloud.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Python, SQL, Java, .NET).
Strong understanding of database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and data management.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and microservices architecture.
Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes).
Strong Java or .NET skills.
Sophisticated SQL skills and the ability to translate business logic and compliance rules into vital queries for calculations, including Functions, Stored Procedures, Query Writing, and Optimization.
Leadership Skills:
Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
Excellent project management skills, with a strong understanding of Agile methodologies.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across teams.
Additional Skills:
Vendor experience with CRM or pipeline tools.
A solid grasp of investment products and derivatives across all Apollo business lines is highly preferred but not required.
Experience or familiarity with Apollo business lines or a similar asset manager.
Data skills to manipulate data using Azure Data Services, SQL, APIs is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with DealCloud or similar deal management platforms.
Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master).
Experience in AI and machine learning technologies

Pay Range
$215,000 - $250,000
The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
