OverviewAs Manager, Operations & Initiatives at Glasslake Funding, you'll be reporting to the Vice President, Operations plays a crucial role in supporting the end-to-end business operations and initiatives, manage process improvements and drive operational efficiency across our lending functions. This role is pivotal in our growth by optimizing operational processes, ensuring robust oversight, and driving innovation in underwriting, operations, securitization and reporting functions. ResponsibilitiesOperational Oversight & Compliance
- Oversee and streamline end-to-end mortgage lending processes, from origination to closing, ensuring compliance with applicable Canadian mortgage industry regulations and standards.
- Act as a liaison between sales, underwriting, operations, and post-closing functions (servicers, finance etc.), identifying areas for improvement to enhance overall operational efficiency.
- Conduct periodic reviews of lending and operational policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and reduce operational risks.
- Ensure that fully documented and trained lending processes adhere to policies, guidelines, and requirements
- Stay updated on industry regulations and changes, and integrate changes as part of the standard process
Innovation & Process Improvement
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize loan processing and enhance team member and broker experience.
- Leverage technology and data analytics to introduce micro innovations that improve workflow and quality while reducing processing times.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, proposing opportunities for operational enhancements in line with best practices.
Securitization & Portfolio Management
- Implement processes to support securitization strategies, and support third party reviews
- Collaborate with management and Bayview teams to support mortgage-backed securities and other structured finance solutions, ensuring compliance with relevant Canadian financial regulations.
- Ensure efficient reporting and tracking of loan portfolio and securitization activities, providing regular insights to senior leadership.
Change Management
- Drive continuous improvement and development of processes, workflows, and procedures across the business while collaborating with divisional leaders and business partners
- Provide oversight, management and leadership to drive optimal performance across all teams
- Coach, mentor and guide the team by ensuring a thorough knowledge of lending processes to ensure process adoption and effective judgement based on the organization’s risk appetite
- Consistently communicate company objectives, areas of focus and priorities in relation to the day-to-day impact for the team
- Foster a continuous learning environment to enhance the skills of the organization
- Provide training on changes in relevant policies, procedures, and industry regulation
Reporting
- Generate, share and leverage reports on underwriting metrics and other key performance indicators.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on the status of underwriting operations.
Qualifications- Minimum ten (10) years of experience in mortgage lending operations, with a strong understanding of the Canadian mortgage market.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field (preferred).
- Demonstrated experience in credit, operations, securitization and reporting in a mortgage or financial services setting
- Proficiency in data analysis and experience with reporting tools
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Strong understanding of the Canadian regulatory environment and mortgage market
- Demonstrated experience leading initiatives focused on process efficiencies and growth
- Ability to establish credibility with both internal and external stakeholders through strong interpersonal skills
