Summary
The Data Governance supports a number of data governance and data quality initiatives. The analyst supports the development of the Board's and the Division's data governance framework, and participates in initiatives that establish data governance policies, processes, standards, and roles across a portfolio of data projects.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Participates in projects to establish and strengthen the Board’s data governance framework and methodology for the documentation of principles, policies and processes, and standards on projects to which assigned. Works to identify industry best practices for data governance and data quality. Works on the creation of a data stewardship program. Supports the data governance work of the Division.
- Participates on data governance and data DG/Q projects. Participates on working groups and resources assigned to DG/Q projects from across various business units, and supports Sr. DGAs as needed to facilitate the work of these groups. Supports data owners and data stewards in their data governance standard implementations and monitors their progress.
- Works to implement the data quality metrics framework for key data elements. Works to quantify business risk and value associated with DG/Q efforts. Supports the baselining of Board data repositories for compliance with data governance policies and standards.
- Works to execute data quality strategies in line with the Board’s business strategy and goals. Works with business owners and data stewards to define and establish data quality rules and definitions consistent with division and organization strategies.
- Assists with the development of organizational governance policies and standards, metadata standards, enterprise data definitions, and enterprise taxonomy standards.
- Helps support implementation of data governance policies and standards.
Position Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, public policy, economics, or another related field and a minimum of 4 years of related experience, or a master’s degree in a related field and 2 years of related experience (FR-25) or A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, public policy, economics, or another related field and a minimum of 5 years of related experience, or a master’s degree in a related field and 3 years of related experience (FR-26).

Summary:
The data governance analyst position is within the Data Governance Section of the Division of Supervision and Regulation (S&R). The Data Governance Section develops and implements fit-for-purpose data governance policies that help connect Federal Reserve staff with the supervisory and regulatory data needed to conduct prudent policymaking, effective supervision, and risk mitigation. The data governance analyst contributes to the development of the division’s data governance framework and participates in systemwide initiatives that establish data governance policies, processes, standards, and roles across a portfolio of data projects and assets.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Contributes to solving of complex business problems in a dynamic environment and producing and implementing solutions that impact the Federal Reserve’s ability to effectively supervise the banking industry.
- Contributes to the creation of data governance and data management frameworks, policies, and standards governing supervisory data (e.g., related to data quality, lineage, and usage).
- Implements, coordinates, and monitors policies and processes governing supervisory data (e.g. data sharing and prioritization of data support investments).
- Identifies and assesses data challenges, changing data needs, and the priorities of the supervision business line. Recommends policy changes that support the supervisory mission.
- Works collaboratively across organizational boundaries – including with other Board divisions and Reserve Banks – on data governance policies, procedures, and guidance.
- Presents and discusses information and recommendations to facilitate S&R leadership prioritization and decision-making relating to data governance and investments.
- Serves as a liaison to key stakeholders (e.g., information technology) for communicating supervision’s business requirements per data governance policies.
- Assesses and communicates the business impact of technological solutions on data users.

Position Requirements:
FR-25: Bachelor’s degree in data management, business, economics, finance, or a related field and a minimum of 3 years of experience, or a master’s degree in a related field and 2 years of experience, or 5 years of relevant experience.
FR-26: Bachelor’s degree in data management, business, economics, finance, or related field and a minimum of 4 years of experience, or a master’s degree in a related field and 3 years of experience, or 6 years of relevant experience.

Additional Skills (preferred, Not Required)
- Certification as a Certified Data Management Professional or experience with industry data management frameworks (e.g., EDM Council’s Data Management Capability Assessment Model (DCAM) or Data Management Body of Knowledge (DMBOK)).
- Understanding of data lifecycle management, including discoverability, accessibility, and quality.
- Familiarity with the banking industry, safety and soundness supervision, or accounting.
- Interest and aptitude in exploring data tools, capabilities, and solutions (e.g., Collibra, Tableau, SQL workbench, Databricks, Starburst, Alteryx).
Hybrid language: This position is located in Washington DC and will require on-site presence 4 times per month and as business needs require
