Summary: The VP, National Accounts Manager, is responsible for managing primary and secondary national accounts relationships and helping Head of National Accounts build strategy for execution. This position is also responsible for conference planning and attending conferences on behalf of Calamos. This position also manages a variety of day-to-day national accounts activities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serves as the primary relationship contact for the firm’s primary and secondary national accounts relationships. Interacts with a variety of contacts, in both proactive and liaison capacities.
- Maintains responsibility for all conference planning activities and attends conferences on behalf of Calamos.
- Assists the SVP/Head of National Accounts with strategic activities.
- Handles a variety of day-to-day national account responsibilities.
- Works with and provides support and information to Intermediary external wholesalers to assist in their sales efforts.
- Uncovers industry trends and leverages within partner firm relationships.
- Assists the SVP/Head of National Accounts with conducting analysis of sales/market trends in the industry, our firm and with assigned strategic partners.
- Maintains a high level of industry and Calamos product knowledge.
- Logs client contacts in the CRM system, including inbound/outbound calls, meetings, conference calls, etc.
- Handles related duties and completes special projects as assigned.
- Leverages Partner Firm Data and incorporates into maximizing opportunities w/ primary and secondary national account relationships.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business, finance, economics or other related discipline.
- Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam, Series 7 and 63 licenses required. CIMA or CFA or progress towards them preferred.
- At least 7 years of industry related experience required, and prior National/Key Accounts experience preferred.
- Must be organized, detail-oriented, and goal-oriented.
- Must have excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Must be willing to travel up to 50% during the year.
- Strong knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Role must be based in either Chicago or New York.
