Morgan Stanley FID Secured Lending (“FSL”) is seeking an Esoteric ABS Portfolio Management Head for its esoteric ABS lending portfolio based in New York. FSL provides asset-backed financing facilities to both asset originators and financial sponsors, and currently manages a portfolio of approximately $68 Bn, backed by a diverse range of assets including consumer and esoteric ABS, residential and commercial mortgages, leveraged loans, and others, in the US, EMEA, and APAC. The esoteric ABS lending portfolio includes facilities backed by digital infrastructure (data centers, cell towers, fiber to the home), whole business, pharma royalties, triple net lease and transportation assets (aircraft, rail, shipping).
The FSL portfolio management team provides ongoing portfolio management, risk oversight and monitoring, and reports to senior management and other key constituents (e.g. Credit department, regulators, borrowers, co-lenders, etc).
Responsibilities Include
- Responsible for evaluating and managing risk across the global esoteric ABS platform
- Review new transactions and facility amendments and conduct counterparty due diligence
- Perform portfolio surveillance and stress testing
- Conduct market and asset level research to inform esoteric ABS business strategy
- Perform periodic business reviews and provide reporting to FSL senior leadership as well as business partners in Credit Risk and Capital Markets
- Lead development of risk reporting and analytics tools
- Oversee automation of reporting and monitoring processes with an emphasis on efficiency and scalability
- Lead a global team of asset managers. Responsible for training, direction and performance management
- Foster a culture of accountability and ownership, collaboration and transparency
- Extensive experience with ABS products
- Deep understanding of risk management principles and ABS market risks
- Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills
- Excellent analytical and business problem solving skills
- B.A. in economics, accounting, finance or related field

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $225,000 and $300,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
