The
Market Data Product Specialist will enhance our team’s capabilities in sourcing, managing, and optimizing market data at Numerix. The ideal candidate possesses a solid understanding of market data and reference data, Python proficiency, and quantitative analysis skills, along with hands-on experience at a market data vendor or within a financial institution. This role is instrumental in ensuring data quality and integration, thereby elevating the value we deliver to clients. We’re looking for a highly analytical, communicative individual capable of handling market data complexities, driving data quality improvements within Numerix products, and supporting client deliverables. The Market Data Product Specialist will play a key role in expanding our market data products and delivering customer value.
What You'll Do - Market Data Analysis and Onboarding
- Analyze market data based on requirements from customers, Product Management, and other stakeholders, interact with market data vendors to ensure the data meets our standards for coverage and quality.
- Develop Jupyter notebooks to prototype data onboarding processes, including loading data from vendor APIs or databases, field mapping, and data transformation for storage in Snowflake.
- Define and implement data validation to maintain data integrity during onboarding.
- Client-Facing Solution Development
- Lead client interactions to understand challenges related to market data and collaborate with Product Management, Development teams and Financial Engineers to design and implement data solutions as product capabilities, ensuring alignment with client needs.
- Product Support and Communication
- Respond to customer queries regarding product details and provide guidance on market data configurations for client environments.
- Conduct internal demos on best practices for using the product through UIs, APIs, and SDKs, enhancing team understanding of product capabilities.
- PreSales and Opportunity Support
- Assist the PreSales team by analyzing customer requirements in new opportunities, delivering accurate and relevant responses, documentation, and market data artifacts to support the sales process.
- Provide insights into the suitability of Numerix’s data offerings for potential clients, addressing specific market data requirements and demonstrating how Numerix meets these needs.
- Market Data Quality Improvement
- Apply statistical techniques to analyze large datasets, generating actionable insights and recommendations to enhance data quality and reliability.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Financial Engineering teams to suggest roadmap improvements focused on data accuracy, coverage, and reliability.
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Actively participate in the product Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), attending scrums and contributing to discussions with Product Managers, Financial Engineers, Software Developers, Project Managers, and Business Analysts.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure that market data solutions are implemented effectively, meet high standards, and align with both product and client objectives.
- Develop and validate Python test cases with Financial Engineers and Developers, ensuring robustness and accuracy in data solutions.
What We're Looking For - Advanced degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Econometrics, Financial Engineering, Finance, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline).
- 3+ years of experience in a market data role within a financial institution, market data vendor, or fintech environment, with expertise in data analysis and integration.
- Develop and validate Python test cases with Financial Engineers and Developers, ensuring robustness and accuracy in data solutions.
- Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and analysis, particularly using Jupyter notebooks.
- Hands-on experience with market data vendors and APIs (e.g., Refinitiv), and familiarity with data platforms like Snowflake.
- Market Data Knowledge: Strong understanding of market data attributes, quote meanings, and the intricacies of various asset classes.

- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
