Job Overview
As a member of the Global Fund Finance team, the Global Fund Finance Senior Associate is responsible for supporting various aspects of Fund Administration with Treasury, Tax and Valuation oversight responsibilities for the Lord Abbett Mutual Funds, Interval Funds and Institutional Portfolios. This Senior Associate will apply quality assurance processes established by the Global Fund Finance team to assist in the oversight of the service providers, ensure compliance with tax regulations and oversee the accurate valuation of fund assets. The Senior Associate will also assist with a variety of ad hoc projects and follow internal escalation protocol related to the oversight of third-party fund administrators.
We’ll Trust You To
Perform a variety of tasks and oversight activities across the spectrum of fund administration areas of Valuation, Tax and Treasury:
- Work closely with investors, traders and analysts to research valuation issues.
- Review ricing exception reports and research market events.
- Proactively raise potential issues to senior members of the Pricing and Valuation group for review in advance of recommending fair value determinations.
- Support the ASC Topic 820 monthly fair value leveling reporting requirements.
- Prepare valuation reporting for Lord Abbett’s internal valuation councils and multiple fund boards.
- Perform reviews of RIC workpapers such as year end tax provisions and financial statement disclosures, federal and state tax returns, excise distribution calculations, asset diversification testing, monthly capital gain estimates and year end shareholder reporting.
- Assist in calculations of both monthly and quarterly dividends.
- Complete components of a risk focused oversight model that address all aspects of Fund Operations including, overseeing daily/monthly NAV calculations, reviews of key reconciliations, and expenses.
- Review the Funds’ financial statements, including the new Tailored Shareholder Reports.
- Review fund-related SEC regulatory filings and fund offering documents.
You'll Need To Have
- 2+ years’ experience in the investment management industry specifically related to mutual fund accounting, administration, auditing, and/or tax.
- Working knowledge registered investment companies.
- Knowledge of various asset classes (e.g., fixed income and equities) and complex instrument types (e.g., derivatives, bank loans and structured products
- Working knowledge of mutual funds taxation; Distributions, K1s,1099s and SEC reporting Annual reports, N-PORT.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to critical end of day responsibilities.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
- Collaborative, adaptable, and innovative in the implementation of operational efficiencies.
- Flexibility, strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a cross functional team

Compensation Information: Annual base salary for this role is $110,000-$120,000 . Salary is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.
Discretionary Bonus: Role may be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are determined by several factors including, but not limited to, firm, team, and individual performance.
