THE ROLE
As part of the Agile Enablement Office (AEO), the Senior Manager/Chief Scrum Master will have a leadership role in establishing, facilitating and continuously optimizing the agile processes needed so that value can be delivered through products and solutions to customers. Needs to be passionate about developing and mentoring a team of scrum masters so they can effectively coach the delivery teams. Advance our agile practice maturity by leading agility practices within the Distribution and Corporate Services domains. This will include facilitating the planning process, removing domain impediments and supporting the enterprise transformation roadmap. In addition, they will closely partner with product management and IT Leadership to mature delivery practices.
What You Will Do
- Directly manage a dynamic team of scrum masters and coach them in performing mature agile practices. Makes decisions regarding hiring, training and development. Conducts performance appraisal reviews and provides effective feedback to team members so they can improve their skills.
- Facilitate effective domain planning exercises (e.g. quarterly planning, monthly product synch, etc.). Strong partnership with product management and IT Leadership is critical to the success.
- Leverage and build on metrics framework to assist in coaching teams and domains to improve delivery and product management.
- Assist teams in effective use of JIRA and Aha to optimize delivery.
- Remove domain impediments that are escalated by teams or through self-identification.
- Spearhead enterprise transformation initiatives as identified by the AEO.
- Encourages and promotes strong engineering practices like unit testing, test-driven development, continuous integration and automated testing.
- Coaches, mentors, and advises technology, business, and management teams in applying Agile values, principles, frameworks, and approaches.
- Active participant in the Scrum Master Community of Practice.
What We Are Looking For
- 8 - 12 years of experience in training, mentoring, and coaching teams in adopting and maintaining an Agile mindset, with experience in employing Scrum, Kanban, and modern engineering practices.
- Hands-on experience as a Scrum Master using scrum and kanban framework. Advanced certifications preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of direct people management experience.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Ability to manage a globally distributed team of Scrum Masters.
- Experience designing and delivering presentations and training to diverse audiences, including senior management, clients and groups that may blend technical and non-technical participants.
- Strong understanding of systems development lifecycle.
