Position Summary
- Expand Conning’s presence as a leading insurance asset manager leveraging market knowledge and deep product expertise
- Responsible for new business generation and developing prospective client relationships
- Define and implement strategic plans for raising new capital for both existing and new strategies
- Develop business by leveraging trade shows, industry publications, and collaborating closely with other business units within Conning
- Coordinate targeted engagement and marketing materials to increase lead generation efforts
- Work with portfolio management team to manage existing client relationships
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in insurance investment management
- CFA or MBA (or other graduate business-related degree), highly desirable
- FINRA Series 7 & 63 preferred or willingness to pass the exams upon hire
- Extensive knowledge of institutional insurance portfolios, strong asset class knowledge and an in-depth understanding of the competitive landscape and industry trends
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly
- Comprehensive knowledge of investment, insurance and accounting issues and the ability to integrate this knowledge into the portfolio management process
- Understanding of the complexities and relationships of the key elements that drive the setting and execution of client specific portfolio strategies for insurance company portfolios
- Proven relationship management skills with senior level insurance professionals
- Strong executive presence and ability to formulate and execute against a business plan
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytic skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
