Note: This position will follow our hybrid work model, we expect the selected candidate to be in the office a minimum of 12 days per month at the St. Petersburg, FL Corporate Office location.
Job Summary
This Senior Leader in the Technology organization will lead multiple Brokerage Middle and Back Office development teams and create strategic direction. Establishing product roadmap, resource plans and budgets, and overseeing project delivery within designated areas of responsibility. Accountable for various projects to improve efficiency and drive productivity within their departments and across the firm when required. Individuals at this level will have a strong understanding of the firm’s different businesses and may be a subject matter expert in specific or multiple technical or business areas. This role will have extensive contact with Raymond James Senior Management.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing and implementing an effective workforce strategy that includes resource management, sourcing strategies, workforce mix and appropriate resource allocation (build/buy/borrow).
- Delivers enterprise-wide strategic thinking to IT investments to ensure integration is achieved.
- Implements effective communication process to provide consistent information distribution throughout the technology organization.
- Coordinates department wide people processes to drive leadership accountability.
- Works closely with SVP on meeting agendas and executive presentations.
- Influences/determines the prioritization of business unit technology projects, optimal project structure and project administration to ensure strategic business objectives are met and risk is managed.
- Responsible for workforce management to accurately capture IT resource capacity involving resources (internal and/or external), processes and practices.
- Partners with senior leaders to assess how technologies can best streamline processes and/or add business value.
- Remains up to date on key technology, business and industry trends.
- Take overall responsibility for setting and approving area budgets that achieve organizational strategy.
- Manage and report on the performance of the function/business area; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports and hold individuals accountable for achieving them; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of annual business objectives.
- Identify the capabilities needed to meet the current and emerging business needs of a significant business area. Evaluate current capabilities, identify gaps, and prioritize development activities. Motivate others to develop their capabilities and fulfill their personal potential. Build capabilities elsewhere in the organization through mentoring and other informal methods.
Skills
- Knowledge of the following: Back and Middle Office Brokerage Business, Software Architecture and Design Principals, and Distributed and Mainframe Technologies.
- Experience with managing implementation of software and systems in a multi-facility environment.

- Update and execute a comprehensive IT strategy and budget aligned with the company’s business objectives and growth plans.
- Provide strategic direction and leadership for all IT-related activities, including infrastructure, software, hardware, and systems development.
- Actively serve on the Extended Leadership Team and collaborate with senior management to identify and leverage technology opportunities to enhance business performance and competitive advantage.
- Manage IT budgets, resources, and vendor relationships to maximize ROI and cost-effectiveness.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and professional growth.
- Manage and allocate IT resources effectively, ensuring alignment with project priorities and business needs.

Bachelor’s: Computer and Information Science, Bachelor’s: Data Science, Bachelor’s: Information Technology
