Job Description
Complete daily settlements tasks which includes monitoring, settling, updating and maintaining time-sensitive information related to trade life cycle events, such as trade matching, trade release, identify and investigate failed trades, etc. Ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is self-motivated, works collaboratively with others and has an appreciation of risk processes. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize effectively.
Job responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely settlement of foreign securities. This includes confirming trade terms are matched and that instructions are accurate and transmitted appropriately.
- Affirm and release currency trades in trade management systems. Calculate gains/losses on currency forward rolls and confirm the pair-off amounts with FX brokers, liaise with FX traders as needed.
- Manage security and cash delivery instructions in databases.
- Review CSDR reports regularly, work on claims as appropriate and bring items to full resolutions.
- Identify and report any settlement issues, determine if manager escalation is necessary.
- Communicate with traders, portfolio architects and other teams internally to resolve settlement inquires and trade discrepancies; externally communicate with custodian banks and broker-dealers. Validate and resolve outstanding claims from custodians and brokers in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance
- Finance or asset management experience preferred
- Strong communication skills necessary, verbal and written
- Effective organizational and analytical skills
- 3 – 5 years of hands-on experience in Settlements
