The Controls Testing Analyst for the Fintech Solutions division is a key member of the Business Risk and Controls team which is responsible for the day-to-day business and operational risk management activities within the Fintech Solutions division. The Controls Testing Analyst assists in the implementation and execution of internal testing cycles to ensure control effectiveness. This role is depended on to identify testable attributes for new and existing controls.
Controls Testing Analyst handles issues from identification through remediation by working with appropriate business and/or technology partners. Additionally, Controls Testing Analyst utilizes their knowledge and expertise to manage unique issues, competing priorities and opportunities that require enhanced coordination with internal stakeholders. The Controls Testing Analyst role has high visibility and requires frequent communication and interaction with members of mid-level and senior management across the Fintech Solutions division.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Formulates testing plans and conducts testing to ensure controls perform according to the requirements documented within the process, risk, and control inventory.
- Develops and maintains effective relationships within the Business Risk and Controls team, the Fintech Solutions division, and with corporate functions.
- Reviews and updates existing narratives and flowcharts with relevant business partners.
- Updates the risk and control matrix with proposed control changes.
- Identifies continuous process improvement opportunities and works with the relevant process and control owners to implement them.
- Works with the stakeholders to understand the business line KRI’s / KPI’s which are used to monitor operational health. Use this understanding to drive risk conversations with leadership, highlight areas of concerns and partner with control owners to develop, recommend and monitor effective remediation plans for identified control issues.
- Identifies potential business risks, operational, and regulatory process deficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Experience Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in a banking-related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in functional control testing, compliance control testing, quality assurance, functional process assessment, or risk analysis experience.
Preferred Requirements
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of databases and applications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook.
- Strong research and analytical skills with attention to detail and organization.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to simultaneously prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
