The Opportunity:
Dive into the dynamic world of Hamilton Lane’s Enterprise Technology team as a Technical Program Manager (Finance & HR) within our growing Technology Project Management Office. We are seeking a Technical Program Manager with demonstrated experience in HR and Finance systems to drive HRIS system implementations, re-architecture, and integrations. Your role will be pivotal in strategizing and executing key implementations and enhancements for our Workday application, ensuring that every initiative is tailored for success. Your responsibilities will be to:
- Steer critical HR and Finance systems projects from inception through execution to warranty, including new implementations, optimizations, data enhancements, and reporting.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (HR, Finance, IT) to align projects with organizational objectives, strategizing on scope, deliverables, MVPs, and success metrics.
- Forge strong connections with stakeholders to gather comprehensive requirements, translating business needs into practical project plans.
- Proactively identify and implement process enhancements, ensuring the smooth integration of new technologies with existing frameworks and systems.
- Vigilantly track project progress, optimize cost, manage risks, and adapt strategies to guarantee project success.
- Conduct Agile ceremonies, including Daily Stand-Ups, Sprint Planning, Retrospectives, and Sprint Reviews and Demos for your teams.
- Keep project documentation up to date in business systems like Confluence and JIRA, also responsible for creating project monitoring tools like Dashboards and Risk logs to avoid project pitfalls.
- Oversee vendor relations and expectations for third-party HRIS system implementations and enhancements.
- Champion project management best practices, contributing to the growth and refinement of the PMO.
Your background will include:
- 5+ years in HRIS systems implementation and enhancement leadership (Workday experience preferred).
- 5+ years of working with a technical program management or product ownership function
- Background in HR and Finance operations or experience in running projects related to enhancing operations through process optimization or technology
- Strong background in HRIS and Release Management (HCM knowledge or certifications are preferred)
- Expertise in defining requirements, personas, scope, and creating process maps, leading to an SOW
- Expert understanding in the project management lifecycle and associated artifacts (Project Plan Creation, Risk Register, RACI, Etc...)
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with senior leaders
- Strong curiosity to ask questions and clarify requests to drive value toward business goals
- Experience with managing complex technical projects and API integrations
- Expertise in various project management approaches, including Agile and Waterfall methodologies and practices
- Effective communicator, skilled in delivering clear and concise updates.
- Demonstrated understanding in managing project risks and assessing downstream impact
- Ability to juggle projects of varying size
- Comfortable with diverse responsibilities
