Get to Know the Opportunity:
This position is responsible for assisting the Voya IM Controllership team with the financial reporting process of Voya Investment Management business. Duties include assisting with the timely and accurate reporting of the Balance Sheet and Income Statement, including preparation of entire financial statements. This position will also support the Voya Financial Controllership team for consolidations and insurance accounting policies for affiliate companies.
Please Note: Work location for this role is FLEXIBLE! This position allows 100% remote work from home or allows work to be performed in any of our major office locations with a hybrid schedule.
The Contributions You'll Make:
Assist in monthly General Ledger closing process, including preparation and review of journal entries and management analysis for variances in revenue and expense reporting.
Assist in month end variance analysis and accounting close process including AR (Accounts Receivable) and AP (Accounts Payable) reporting.
Assist in consolidation, review, and analysis of monthly/quarterly/annual financial data, including the analysis of variances and identification of unusual items to ensure timely and accurate financial results.
Review revenue recognition, capitalized labor / IT accounting processes, and compensation accounting to ensure compliance with GAAP.
Reviews actual performance against authorized spend (e.g., detailed expense review).
Prepare and review of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, IFRS, STAT and Proxy / SAI (Statement of Additional Information) investment fund data.
Prepare and aggregate financial transaction data of Collateralized Loan Obligations, Limited Partnerships, and Mutual Funds for Consolidations (ASC 810).
Create complex formulas and functions to automate data analysis and calculations, develop and maintain macros to automate processes and tasks.
Assist in ensuring effective internal financial controls are maintained in compliance with US GAAP, SOX, policy, and procedures and all legal or statutory requirements.
Establish good working relationships with operational leadership, corporate finance teams, and internal/external auditors.
Recommending changes where appropriate to assure compliance with SOX 404 requirements and GAAP.
Minimum Knowledge & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Education, and Business/Administration.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, particularly with financial analysis and monthly ledger closes.
Experience with STAT accounting and filings or Consolidation accounting.
Experience with some form of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) (Oracle based system would be beneficial).
Excellent communication, research skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Preferred Knowledge & Experience:
Preferred IT Skills: Oracle General Ledger and Microsoft Suite of Products Senior Financial Analyst Qualifications
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) and/or MBA preferred.
Public Accounting experience preferred.

Compensation Pay Disclosure:
Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.
The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.
Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
