In the role of
Financial Analysis Lead, you will report to the Head of Planning and Expense Consolidation, Group Benefits and play a pivotal role in helping support all financial aspects of revenue planning within the $5B+ Group Benefits business. You will collaborate with Finance, Actuarial, Commercial, Claims, Underwriting and Operations partners to model and predict premium and fee income and lives volumes for all Group Benefit products and distribution channels, while aligning to the strategic vision of the employee benefits business.
You will serve as a subject matter expert, providing critical insights and identifying emerging trends, risks, and opportunities for product, pricing, and commercial organizations. In providing reliable volume metrics, you will ensure alignment between workforce planning and budget development for each function. You will also support business case development by offering guidance on estimated revenue and earnings growth realized from new investments and initiatives.
You will
- Develop a timely and accurate financial revenue plan by developing a timeline to collect and understand key drivers of premium and customer lives from SMEs in the Group Benefits organization combined with macro-economic factors, applying those drivers and factors to product, size, and channel models.
- Reforecast premium and lives at updated jump-off points throughout the year and with changing scenarios.
- On a monthly basis, prepare actual versus plan analyses with rich commentary, KPI metrics, and professional exhibits & waterfalls for executive review meetings. Ability to explain the why and provide actionable insights.
- Continuously identify and quantify Risks & Opportunities to the financial plan as they develop throughout the year.
- Oversee and manage a financial analyst and delegate responsibilities while developing their skill level.
- Assist with measuring revenue benefit realization of new investments and initiatives business cases to ensure investment warranted for value creation and IRR estimates.
- In conjunction with FP&A partners, incorporate incremental expected or realized revenue benefits into the financial operating plan process.
- Assist in the planning and reporting of commissions, special producer compensation, and incentive compensation.
- In addition to the Group & Worksite markets business, this position will be responsible for revenue projections for the Retail business and associated premium analytics.
- Drive results within team and with cross functional partners by assessing need, developing, and implementing processes to enhance workflows where applicable on key deliverables.
- Lead the initiative to transform and modernize financial systems (FSI) with the implementation of Oracle cloud-based, modern, finance-unified platforms including FAW dashboards.
You have
- 5+ years of relevant experience within the Group Benefits industry with Finance or Actuarial experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- ASA, CPA, CFA designation or equivalent relevant accreditation / advanced degree preferred.
- The ability to think critically, analyze, prioritize, take initiative, problem solve.
- Demonstrated business acumen with ability to build relationships with executive leadership and across multiple matrix organizations.
- Leadership experience combined with the ability to manage a team of analytical and technical professionals.
- Organizational savvy with ability to influence cross functionally.
- Strong analytical and technical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information and translate into a compelling narrative.
- Proficient within the Microsoft office suite along with data visualization experience.
Location
This is a flexible position requiring 2 days per week in the office, with preference given to candidates within commuting proximity to a Guardian office, preferably Bethlehem, PA, Holmdel, NJ, or New York with travel as needed.
Salary Range
$101,180.00 - $166,220.00
The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
